Wrong premise. The Constitution recognizes the fact that citizens have a God given natural right to self protection, including access to firearms. It also recognizes that moving to the United States is a privilege that cannot be afforded to anyone without restrictions.

Would have loved to hear the answer as, “We have vetting laws for guns and in this case, one person slipped through the cracks and 26 people are dead - even more people slip through the cracks under our current immigration procedures and they have been proved to be every bit as deadly. We have more extreme vetting over guns than we have been using on immigrants, and yet this individual slipped through - we need to boost the degree of vetting of immigrants quite a bit to make it even as effective as current gun vetting.”

So, because of a failure in government bureaucracy, this idiot reporter wants Trump to create MORE government bureaucracy to solve it? What a maroon.

I'd be quite pleased to see all "Dreamers" and "unaccompanied children" undergo the same scrutiny as a law-abiding citizen undergoes when purchasing a firearm.

But that's not what happens.

We already have extreme vetting. Whole swaths of the population are not permitted to buy guns.

Liberals believe gun laws and background checks are mystical incantations and/or symbols that ward off Evil.

Problem-knives, bats, trucks, fists, and bullets all cut through paper with ease.

Simple way is to declare everyone insane until proven sane by a medical board. The question then is, who will certify the medical board as sane?

Who will watch the watchers?
