ABERDEEN -- Shortly before 9:40 p.m., Republican Kim Guadagno appeared on stage to concede the New Jersey governor's race to Democrat Phil Murphy, saying she made "the best possible case" to voters in her efforts to succeed Gov. Chris Christie. "We left no stone unturned," Guadagno, Christie's lieutenant governor, said, quickly arresting the lusty boos that sprang up at the mention of Murphy's name.

Christie was a great governor for 3-4 years. He’s been mailing it in since he was re-elected in 2013. I’ve always believed that he saw this job as a stepping-stone to a U.S. Attorney General nomination in 2012 or 2016.

I’ll respectfully disagree. For gun owners in NJ, he COULD have been a great governor if he’d have even made an ATTEMPT to roll back some of the egregious infringements on the Citizens 2nd Amendment right. He did nothing to help the honest citizens who want to be able to carry for self-defense, to just BUY a firearm without a damned permission slip, etc.
I initially thought he’d be a good win for NJ, but that turned out not to be the case. Major disappointment, and just another RINO. And the Bridgegate thing gave the Dems tons of ammo to shove up his rear. Bad optics, for sure.

Christie was shackled with a Democrat-contrallied legislature (both houses) for his entire tenure in office. He wasn’t perfect, but he was the best you were ever going to get here.
After Christie, who the Hell wanted another Republican?? Christie was sold as the Republican savior of New Jersey and he turned out to be a turd. People were willing to try another Democrat after his clown act.
His “tough guy” act was just an act after all.
