Donna Brazile's Curious Account of the 2016 Election
The Atlantic ^ | November 2, 2017 | by David A. Graham

Posted on 11/02/2017 10:55:27 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

The former DNC chair seems eager to jump on the Bernie Sanders bandwagon, but her claims of ignorance about party favoritism toward Hillary Clinton don’t add up.

For defeated politicians, the period after an election is for score-settling. For defeated political operatives, it’s about positioning for the next race. And if a juicy excerpt from Donna Brazile’s new book Hacks is an indication, the longtime Democratic operative and former interim chair of the Democratic National Party seems to think the future is Bernie Sanders.

Brazile’s piece, in Politico Magazine, is a fascinating document, though maybe not always for the reasons intended.

Brazile’s piece does help to explain one mystery of the 2016 cycle: Why didn’t Clinton move to depose Wasserman Schultz sooner? Democrats had been complaining about her stewardship of the committee nearly since she was installed.

The fact that an operator like Brazile is willing to burn bridges with the Clintons, though, is important. Although one might have assumed Hillary Clinton’s time as a Democratic mover and shaker was passed, her frequent appearances to promote her book suggest she remains interested in staying in the arena, and earlier this week Jeet Heer argued that she should be the Democrat’s standard-bearer against Trump. (Never mind that we’ve seen how that turned out once before.) But Brazile’s bound toward the Bernie bandwagon is another indication of how Sanders is, at least for the moment, the de facto leader of the Democratic Party.

Why didn’t Clinton move to depose Wasserman Schultz sooner?

Because she was doing her bidding? Just a guess.

The simple truth here is that this A-hole has no skills and no qualifications to do anything other than function as a political operative. She has to jump on whatever political bandwagon happens to be rolling past her ... because otherwise she'd be working as a Wal-Mart cashier in Louisiana.

Let’s be honest, though. It’s not like Bernie was a Democrat. He was and is a registered Democratic Socialist and only registered as a Democrat to run for President. It would be akin to Hillary registering as a Republican and then complaining when the RNC steered the nomination towards an actual RINO rather than the newly registered RINO.

Donna Brazil knows Hillary is going down.

Watching the Clinton's have so many enemies murdered of the years, it's beyond interesting that Donna would speak out against the Clinton Kamp.

...who will be 79 in 2020. That's not much of a future.

The “Water Buffalo” (to quote hilLIARy) helped her cheat in the debates.

Has anyone asked Clinton why she accepted debate questions from Brazille?

Hacks is actually a very good name for the book since she is the queen of the party hacks and party hacks have shut down anything resembling democracy in the modern democratic party.

I think Donna Brazile has joined Team Bernie. Throwing Hilary under the bus to piss off the Bernie Bots so they will riot in the streets to overthrow the US of A. This is what socialist do.

I went to the linked article in the Atlantic.

Two editorial notes:

1. The excerpt posted here is really snippets from different parts of the article, not a consectutive series of paragraphs from it. Ellipses would have made that clear.

2. Highly-paid Atlantic writers and editors should know that either of the following would be better than “...one might have assumed Hillary Clinton’s time as a Democratic mover and shaker was passed” -—

Should be either:

“one might have assumed Hillary Clinton’s time as a Democratic mover and shaker has passed”

or:

“one might have assumed Hillary Clinton’s time as a Democratic mover and shaker was past.”

Interesting tidbit from the Atlantic article:

“[Brazile writes:] ‘If the fight [between Sanders and Hillary] had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead.’

“[The Atlantic editorializes:] This is a reasonable conclusion, but it will not come as news to Sanders fans, nor to most watchers of the Democratic primary. The only surprise here is that it came as a surprise to Donna Brazile.”

So The Atlantic’s position, apparently, is that since “everyone knew” that the fix was in for Hillary from the beginning, then Brazile is just ‘surprisingly’ naive to claim not to have known it herself.

The party of Harvey “everyone knew” Weinstein, indeed.
