A Cub Scout pressed a lawmaker about gun control. Then his den kicked him out, his mother said.

When Ames Mayfield’s Cub Scout den met with a Colorado state senator last week, the 11-year-old came prepared with a long list of typed-up questions.

Ames pressed the Republican state senator, Vicki Marble, on an issue he knew was important to her: gun legislation. The Cub Scout in Broomfield, about 20 miles north of Denver, asked her a slew of questions about previous bills she had sponsored in support of the right to bear arms, and he wasn’t shy about inserting his opinion.

“I was shocked that you co-sponsored a bill to allow domestic violence offenders to continue to own a gun,” Ames said, according to a video posted to YouTube by his mother. “Why on earth would you want someone who beats their wife to have access to a gun?”

After Ames’s questions went on for more than two minutes, a leader in his group cut him off to allow the state senator to answer.

Clearly the kid is being brainwashed at home.

Too bad, but I don't think the scouts are obligated to let him spread propaganda at their meetings.

Good.

The kid was disrespectful to an elected leader. That’s not proper civics nor is it proper manners.

The kid just wanted to go on with his propaganda, not really asking a question.

I guess the Kid wasn’t taught that in the United States of America you are Innocent until PROVEN Guilty.

Being “accused” of Domestic Violence is NOT the same as being Convicted of Domestic Violence. If there enough Proof presented in a preliminary Trial, it’s a different story.

Under these Gun Control Laws, the mere accusation is enough to deny you your God Given Constitutional Rights. A pissed off Girlfriend, Wife (or both) lying through their teeth is all it takes.

I’ve watched enough Judge Judy Shows to know SOMEBODY is lying. LOL

What’s an 11-year-old doing in the Cub Scouts? He should already be in a Boy Scout Troop.

“Shall not be infringed, unless you hit you wife”?

The wife beater keeps his right to free speech as well, kid.

Strangely, much of what appeared in South Park cartoons is true. There’s quite a mix of cultures there.

Not really he is right on schedule.

Cub Scouts go from 6 to 11 years old.

They have six ranks from Bobcat to Arrow of Light.

He is likely Webelos II/Arrow of Light level, on the older side. They start at 10 usually (5th grade) but could turn 11 during that season.
