Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV on Thursday that the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump's remarks to a Gold Star widow "looks to me to be a set-up" by Florida Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson.
"The thing that disturbs me is Congresswoman Wilson," O'Reilly told host John Bachman on "Newsmax Now" in an interview. "They were given a 24-hour day.
"The family of the fallen Army Sgt. [La David] Johnson, who was a Green Beret, was given 24-hour notice that President Trump would call.
"They gave that information to Congresswoman Wilson, who is an anti-Trump hater and has been from the jump," O'Reilly said. "Also, she voted against all of the bills that would help the military.
"She knew the call was coming in, she was in the car when President Trump reached the widow, Myeshia Johnson, 24 years old," he told Bachman.
"Then, she goes out on CNN and says, 'The president insulted Mrs. Johnson, made her cry.'
"This looks to me to be a set up," O'Reilly concluded. "It really does."
He noted Wilson, a four-term representative, had told reporters she only heard a portion of the call between Mrs. Johnson and Trump.
"That's impossible," he told Bachman. "If you were on a speakerphone in a car with the widow, which you were, you would have had to have heard the whole call."
O'Reilly said he was not surprised White House chief of staff John Kelly or press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders would say President Trump's condolences were respectful.
"But I believe that you are innocent until proven guilty," he said. "And, I know Donald Trump.
"I know he respects military people, so why on earth would a sitting president call a widow — just lost her husband in Niger — and insult her?
"It's impossible. It's inconceivable.
"Now, a choice or words or something like that, OK," he added, "but that's picayune."
O'Reilly said the negative coverage reflected the media's continuing efforts to "denigrate Mr. Trump.
"Nobody knows what was said. The press does not know.
"The press doesn't know — and, yet, you turn it on the television set, it's the worst kind of hatred," he said.
"This is what a continuation of what the American people have to deal with from the press.
"They're taking Ms. Wilson's word for it," O'Reilly told Bachman. "They're not taking Gen. Kelly's word for it, who says there wasn't anything inappropriate.
"They're taking Wilson's. Why? Because they hate Trump.
"Everybody knows what the game is."
My question is why was Frederica Wilson called in the first place and which member of the family called her?
As General Kelly says, the one last act that is sacred has been taken down, the memory of those who gave their life for the rest of us. This sacred remembrance was destroyed by whoever called Frederica Wilson and by Frederica Wilson herself. Who called her? Why?
If I was on the ground near the family, I would ask in the neighborhood if anyone knew which member called Frederica.
If it was the widow that called, I would leave her in peace out of memory of the fallen Green Beret unless I uncovered there was a separation or pending divorce, and there were allegations that the widow was a Trump hater or Hillary supporter in which case I would tread gently for fear of being accused of further harassment by the widow herself.
If it were NOT the widow that called, I would uncover the background of the person that alerted Frederica Wilson and publish it.
Again the question that is puzzling is why would Frederica be called? The only answer that makes sense is as O'Reilly describes, it was a SET-UP.
I can imagine how that went on behind the scenes, the Rodeo clown telling her “Yo! You tell that racist white supremacist white privilege mo fo to go F hisself!!!”
The article said “they” called her. It could be protocol that when a president calls someone the rep in that district is informed.
This evil, hideous hag is a total embodiment of a political slut-whore.
Tell your kids that!
The only family member that I heard supporting Wilson was the mother of, either the widow or the fallen soldier. She spoke out for Wilson, so I suspect she is the one that alerted Wilson. But the widow had Wilson in her car when the call came through. I sure hope the widow isn’t a party to this smear. It would smear her husband in the blowback. Prayers for this family, they need God given help.

With 24 hour advance notice it’s obvious the congresswoman inserted herself into the whole process. It was a setup. She’s obviously a complete jackass people are not focusing on the fact she stated that she tried to take the phone away and start arguing with Trump.
Reps can ask for casualties so they can give condolences. This was a total set-up, right up there with ‘W hates black people’.
And it’s not like they’re ever gonna stop.. and Karma never seems to catch up with them.
When a President makes a call like this it should be recorded for public record
General Kelly described the protocol in detail in yesterday’s press conference. No mention of informing the next of kin’s representative was mentioned.
Whoever it was who called blowgut Wilson, has surely bragged about it all over that area. So it would not be difficult to find out.
Read that Wilson and the widow have been good friends for years.
This despicable, illiterate, self-stereotyping, head-wagging, simian gum-flapper really missed her calling. She should have been a character on “Amos ‘n’ Andy” or “Sanford & Son.” Move over, Sapphire and Aunt Esther!

Next time, the WH should notify the family to expect a call from Hillary Clinton. That would guarantee there would be no recording devices or eavesdroppers anywhere nearby when Trump calls instead.
Exactly. Of course this was a set-up. How else could the widow be in the car or on a 3-way call with the Cowboy Congresswoman?
My thought when I heard about it was that it was staged by the sick f*** Democrats! Gen. Kelly’s response in Presser was profound.
Oh, and tell that congresswomen that she is culturally appropriating the cowboy hat!
Trump does not seem to know how to use his power to punish congress critters nor to inflict punishment for disloyalty. President Trump needs a “political hit-man” with legal training (if not an actual lawyer)to be sure the political payback accounts are balanced every day.
