Ben Affleck is no Brad Pitt. Come to think about it, neither is Casey Affleck, Matt Damon or George Clooney, for that matter.
Of the five, whose Hollywood acting careers blossomed together, only Brad Pitt had the courage to stand up to Harvey Weinstein, the depraved Hollywood movie mogul, who helped all of them climb the ladder of success.
Pitt did so after Weinstein propositioned Gwyneth Paltrow, Pitt’s then girlfriend, who was a 22-year-old aspiring actress.
It happened when Paltrow was signed to play the lead role in the 1996 movie “Emma,” which Weinstein financed. Paltrow told The New York Times in its explosive story about Weinstein’s predatory sex life, that Weinstein summoned her to his hotel room in Beverly Hills for a meeting.

Brad barely stood up to weinstein only for the sake of then girlfriend.
He didn’t really stand up and out weinstein to the public in a way that would have made a difference.
Pitt was only caring about his self interests.
Weinstein must’ve been the inspiration behind the character of the movie producer in Team America.
Look, I ain't calling Pitt a hero, but the very fact that he stood up for his girlfriend, does say something positive about Pitt.

It may be hard to prove their guilt in a court of Law.
In the “Court of Public Opinion”, not so much.
I read that Clooney was drunk on his butt the other night at a restaurant where Fabio was hosting 6 ladies at a nearby table. Clooney started verbally harassing one lady and Fabio went over to speak with him about it. Then a few minutes later he started up again and Fabio went after him and he ran out of the restaurant. What a scumbag! LOL!
Every day starry-eyed pretty boys and girls arrive, desperate to "break into Hollywood". If a producer tells them this is the price they must pay, to be used and degraded, many will pay it.
If Weinstein called for auditions tomorrow, willing young wannabes would be waiting outside his door.
That situation needs to be fixed, not sure how.
The Hollywood game is largely selling sexually attractive individuals to the public, both female and male, and the monetary compensation for successful applicants to potential “openings” can be mind-boggling. So, the gatekeepers and arbiters of such success have long been known to be sexual predators, we’re talking a century here, and I’m not even sure the word “predator” is correct if the vast majority are crawling into their web willingly in the full knowledge that they’re basically prostituting themselves, unless they’re underage. The occasional innocents who get caught up in that web truly anger me, though. Corey Haim is currently a prominent example, but I’m quite certain there are many others. I do find that I can no longer enjoy watching some older movies that I once enjoyed, for wondering if this or that child star was being sexually abused at the time.
Exactly correct. I said the same thing here as the story broke, and too my surprise all sorts of Freepers seem convinced that everyone other than Weinstein was a “victim”.
Exploiting people like this is/should be a serious crime. But, participating in the game while not a crime, is an act of enabling that perpetuates the problem.
Anyone that indeed DID step up and complain, or refuse to participate, those indeed are REAL victims.
A very very long list of Hollywood actors and actresses should be DEEPLY ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES for enabling this kind of thing. Hey, toss me in there, or anyone that watches tv and movies, as we’ve long known what really goes on.

The deeper shame and depravity with Michael Jackson would be the parents lining up to deliver their boys to him. Looking for that payday, no other explanation.
I strongly believe that practice is not unique to the former living human being, Michael Jackson.
Think how many parents have allowed their children to be sexually assaulted for money? Can’t tell me they didn’t know about it, as the kids faces must have revealed their new found horror. Truly disgusting, and a very hot place in hell awaits these people.
It’s not limited to Michael Jackson but his example is the only one to have gotten into the public eye.
Thus far.
Weinstein is just one of the hundreds of pervs in Hollyweird. Until they are named, nothing will change.
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow hung out with Harvey Weinstein afterward.
Money talks not morals with these people.
My daughter was a baby nurse for high profile families.
