The Oregon State Bar will move ahead with ethics charges against the state's former top federal prosecutor who lied about a sexual relationship with an underling.
The agency's disciplinary board met Saturday to review the bar investigation into Amanda Marshall, who resigned in 2015 amid a federal inquiry into her relationship with an assistant prosecutor in her office.
The panel determined there was probable cause to bring ethics charges against Marshall for violating rules dealing with honesty and trustworthiness.
The case now advances to the trial phase. A panel will convene, likely sometime in the spring, to determine if Marshall has engaged in misconduct. Punishment for ethics violations range from a public reprimand to a suspension or disbarment.

Media reports in The Oregonian and Willamette Week claimed that Marshall had been sending numerous text messages and emails to a federal prosecutor under police protection due to threats against his life from the Mexican Mafia. (Wikipedia)
I’m pretty sure she lied about LOTS of things.
She is the one that overturned a trial judge’s appropriate sentencing of the Hammonds over their routine controlled burning, in favor of the morons in the Federal BLM which led to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge protest which ended in a killing of Levoy Finnicum, a hit likely, very likely ordered by McCabe as a show of force avenging the Bundy standoff in Bunkerville. NV.
The judge did not want to sentence the Hammonds to any further prison time, so he sentenced them for time served. They shouldn’t have been found guilty. Fed BLM had changed during the Obama years to an arrogant agency hellbent to harass the lowly ranchers and farmers in their path. Hammonds had done the burns as they had always done and were arrested for not getting a permit.
Amanda Marshall stepped in to enforce a mandatory minimum sentence for the Hammonds causing them to be sent back to prison. She showed herself to be a menace. Her background reveals she is an incompetent who forced her way forward as a Hillary clone. She is bad news.
Knowing about her background and knowing what she’s done to good people can make a conservative’s blood boil.
I’m not sure about that conclusion. No indication one way or the other in the story.
