Appeals court halts ruling allowing illegal immigrant teen to get abortion

An appeals court on Thursday halted a decision that would have allowed a pregnant illegal immigrant teen to get an abortion, just hours after a federal judge ordered the government to "promptly" take her to have the procedure.

The unidentified 17-year-old girl, who is being held at a Texas facility after she entered the U.S. illegally, is believed to be about 15 weeks pregnant. Texas state law bans most abortions if a woman is more than 20 weeks pregnant and require them to get counseling from a doctor 24 hours before the procedure. Minors are also usually required to obtain parental consent or a judge's waiver.

Another hearing is expected to occur Friday morning, in which the appeals court could lift the stay. The teenager can then still have the procedure on Friday or Saturday.

Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered on Wednesday to have the teenager transported to an abortion clinic “promptly and without delay.” The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia then issued a short ruling that blocked the order after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services filed an appeal.

I believe Zero set the precident for how to handle this case with one of his last acts as President when, on 12 Jan 2017, he ended the 'wet foot/dry foot' sanctuary program for Cubans. That same precident should be applied to those crossing our borders illegally (and most especially with admitted runaway minors).

The game:
This alleged 17yo is, according to her attorneys, from ‘central America’. She claims her parents might punish her if they find out she is pregnant; she's a runaway minor. She has voiced that she feels "coerced" into carrying full-term in response to being provided well pregnancy counseling. Mexico City provides abortion on demand up to 12 weeks pregnant. Texas law requires parent/judge sign off on any minor’s abortion. AG Paxton has argued that those here illegally with no ties to the US have no constitutional right to taxpayer-funded abortion. This pits money-hungry abortion clinics and SJWs looking to make the US a free abortion sanctuary, against (parents and) taxpayers, and against the identity of the US.

The ACLU is arguing that the US government is legally obligated to provide food, housing and medical care including abortions on demand as part of ‘reproductive services’ for ‘unaccompanied minors’. The nGos who provide the services for minors under govt contract say they can't facilitate abortions. This pits current legislation, religious freedom and sovereignty as an affront to 'civil rights'.
