The Left’s Sirens Are Already Hinting Our Culture Wars Will End In Another Civil War
The Federalist ^ | 10/10/2017 | John Daniel Davidson

Posted on 10/10/2017 11:59:04 AM PDT by ForYourChildren

The radicalization of the Democratic Party is transforming everything that happens in America into another battle in our unending culture war.

Is there anything left in American public life that isn’t an occasion for political rancor and division? NFL games are now nothing more than crude pieces of political theater. On Sunday even Vice President Mike Pence got in on the act, showing up to a Colts-49ers game then leaving after a few players knelt during the national anthem. Next day was Columbus Day, which the cities of Los Angeles and Austin decided this year to replace with “Indigenous Peoples’ Day,” because Christopher Columbus is apparently the new Robert E. Lee. And it’s only Tuesday.

It should be obvious by now that our culture wars will henceforth be constant and unending; the next battle could be triggered by almost anything. Whether it’s the reactions (or non-reactions) of Hollywood celebrities to the unsurprising news of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misdeeds or the outraged calls for the repeal of the Second Amendment the instant news broke of the Las Vegas massacre, very little can happen in America now without it being an occasion for an appeal to one’s own political tribe. No matter how tawdry or horrifying the news, there is vanishingly little room for solidarity because there is no appetite for it. Not even late-night comedy shows with their shrinking audiences can resist the urge to devolve into partisan political rants.

For all his eagerness to wage the culture wars in his improvised, bombastic style, this didn’t begin with Donald Trump. It didn’t begin with Barack Obama, either, but a recent study by Pew Research Center found that divisions between Republicans and Democrats on fundamental political values reached record levels during the Obama administration. .. {..snip..}

Open warfare between the dependency class and its excuse makers and the producers... might be scare if it wasn’t for the fact most of the producers are armed and know how to use them.

In that case I guess it’s good that our side owns over 80% of the nation’s firearms. The left has kind of shot themselves in the foot by pushing their followers to disarm for the last 50 years if they really want another civil war. Those Antifa wooden sticks aren’t going to stand up very well to AK-47’s....

Look at the left and right and edges of the 2017 chart!

This will tell you which part is radicalized.
The democrat (blue) edge is nearly to the top.
The republican side slopes way down.

Yet the media tries to portray the right as radical.

We have got a very serious propaganda problem in this country.
The democrats will resort to violence and facism to get their way if they keep getting radicalized like this.

“Gonna get worse before it gets better.”

Is this one reason why Bannon is in such a hurry?

Possibly also due to Iran, and North Korea.

Bannon explained to host Sean Hannity he was “declaring war” on the Republican establishment and said that no incumbent was safe, adding that “just voting” was not good enough and a sense of urgency was required.

The right has pretty much stayed where it was since 1994 on all the issues.

The Left has moved far, far, far Left.

>>Won’t need bump stocks to end this war quickly.

Nope. But do we have the anger to shoot our Progressive neighbor in the face? The War Between the States was not a civil war.

We stand in line at the grocery store with people who are the enemy of our American exceptionalism and personal freedom. We work with them. We say hi to them as we pump gas.

And they think that we are the enemy of global security, a safe climate, and financial security for all people.

A civil war is inevitable with these people (or they will enslave us), but I do not look forward to it or think it will be easy.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln:

A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half liberal and half conservative. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other. Either the opponents of liberalism will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall infect all the States, old as well as new — North as well as South.

Yes. We are dealing with Cultural Marxists for whom "The Revolution is always." The revolution NEVER ceases, and they will constantly move the goalposts.

That has been the goal for as long as they’ve been denying that they are Cultural Marxists.

But... the great uniter? The great healer? The post-racial demi-god Obama?

The lazy bigot. Puke.
