Didn't one of the amendments originate after the civil war and have a purpose specifically to protect black people's right to possess firearms, so they could protect themselves?

I first read about that argument from the left a few years ago. Apparently, they allege that the Founding Fathers were that fearful of blacks uprising against slave owners that that is why they wanted the whites to be armed through the Second Amendment. Not only is that patently false and fraudulent on it’s own, but anyone who has a rudimentary knowledge of the history of gun control laws in the United States knows that among the first gun restrictions created and passed in America were done so in the South before and after the Civil War to keep guns away from blacks. I believe that the NRA worked with the Congress on Racial Equality to oppose Jim Crow laws that continued to restrict firearms to blacks.

Falsely attributing the 2nd Amend to slavery is another attempt by the left to connect the Constitution with slavery in order to destroy it. They are tearing down statues, vandalizing monuments and will be burning text books and then people. Part of a wider smear of America.
