The big problem in Puerto Rico is logistics. Roads and bridges are either damaged or destroyed. The military has logistical means of dealing with this.
The other big problem though is political. The Teamsters are using this crisis to commit in effect extortion. Add to that politicians being obstructive so they can whine that the US Government is doing nothing. Case in point where the mayor of San Juan is whining on TV while there are full supply pallets in the background. The level of obstructionism is far worse than that of then governor of Louisiana Kathleen Blanco during Katrina.
Anything to make Trump look bad, and the media plays along with the lie.

Or maybe start clearing the road themselves instead of waiting around for someone to do it for them.

It seems PR pols were given plenty of time to get their acts together. At this point, why not have the military take over and govern and rebuild the island? It wouldn't cost the US budget anything. Just move the military and all construction projects from Afghanistan to PR. Who in the DC swamp would dare vote against legislation that did that?

In the 1960s, I was fortunate enough to take a few vacations to Caribbean islands. They did quite well under colonial govs. Now, they're pretty much in ruins.

Twice as far to DX. Dominica is using 7.188 and 3.815 MHz.
Pr is using 14.265 MHz for emergency communications.

If Trump is smart he will get the governor of PR to allow him to appoint a military governor of Puerto Rico, like POTUS, Truman did, appointing Gen. Douglas MacAuther the military governor of Japan when WWII ended.

You must realize that that lifeblood, energy and drive left Pureto Rico for the greener pastures of the stateside USA, because of the political economic destruction of island PR by the Democrat socialist, left wing low life. Puerto Rico needs a new life minus any Democrat Party, scum and vermin that reduced this great, magnificent paradise, island, economically, opportunity, wise island.

Cuba would be the same way. Dump Castro and company and watch how the Cuban-Americans turn Cuba around to the great success it can be. And...ditto for Venezuela...too!!!

Trumpie...I hope you see the grand, once-in-a-lifetime, opportunity, Almighty God has presented you with. Ah...Puerto Rico, Cuba, Venezuela,,,,all friends and supporters of the USA...maybe even becoming states. Just gotta steer clear of the left-wing Democrat Party political waste!!! Go for it “Trumpie”.
