I’m the farthest thing from a liberal that you could ever see but I still don’t think there are any real winners in a war. War may be necessary some times but the “winner” usually ends up a lot worse off than had there not been a war. I went straight from high school graduation to boot camp in 1962 and came within a whisker of being killed more than once even though I was fortunate enough not to have to go into combat in Vietnam. I have known quite a few who survived it but only one of them seemed to have not been harmed either physically or mentally. If you think the Union forces didn’t suffer horrifically during the American Civil War you are mistaken and if you really think I have an account at DU you are silly.
You’re probably on the right track there.
A good start.
A good finish would be convicting most of the California state gov’t for treason.
