Malcolm Wilson was the last Conservative NY Governor. A huge reason he gets no respect in NY.

They probably have a contract with the Corleone collection agency—need to get out of state folks to pay that toll!

Exactly! NY seems in a hurry to rename everything after a Dem politician. There was a 50-year pause following the renaming of Idlewild. . .now it’s nonstop.

If it’s anything like the new Bay Bridge it won’t be the design that’s a cost issue, it’ll be the crappy materials QA/QC.

Lived in SW CT (Fairfield Cty.)for many years. Business took me over to NJ frequently; I've crossed the Tappan Zee & GW hundreds of times (no exaggeration). Even sailed under the TZ once, moving a sailboat from Tarrytown over to Stamford, CT.
Down the Hudson around the tip of Manhattan and up the East River. Interesting trip.

I drove over the west bound part of it last month, pretty amazing bridge.
To: mosesdapoet
Yes, that’s the old one. Post #11 has a video of the new bridge which opened to one-way traffic in August, 2017.

As was said in The Great McGinty, we need a new dam. And dams need a lot of concrete.

And should have included a rail option, as well.

I prefer the TZ to the GW when driving south but tend to go Cross Bronx when returning. I had no idea that it was closing. The last time I drove over the GW almost 4 years ago, I broke down in Mamaroneck. Ended up getting a new car because the repairs simply took too long. Car got fixed but gave it away to a family member who used it as an Uber driver for a good while.
I knew a truck driver who I was told died going off that bridge some 20 plus years ago.
