[Intro by Topher: a High School cheerleader (small female) was put in ICU by football player. She was defending Autistic student from football player. Football player hit her multiple times. With that, read the article] Correct title: Breaux Bridge student hospitalized Wednesday; her parents speak out [Article takes 6 paragraphs to tell you what I told you in my Intro]

BREAUX BRIDGE (LA.) KLFY- The St. Martin Parish the Sheriff’s Department and the St, Martin Paris School Board are officially investigating an incident that left one Breaux Bridge high student hospitalized. Regan Boudreaux, a junior at Breaux Bridge high loved to cheer. As a flyer, she was dropped in a stunt and suffered a concussion at practice. When her mother reached out to the school to find out what happened she says she was shocked. “They told us that two weeks prior to practice she had fallen but they knew what to look for, they specialize in recognizing concussions and stuff like that and that she didn’t experience any symptoms,” said Regan’s mother, Terra Boudreaux. Regan went to see the school’s concision specialist and was discharged after 6 weeks and was cleared to cheer. After getting a second opinion from an outside doctor the Boudreaux’s learned that Regan was not okay and had suffered a severe concussion. On Wednesday, Regan’s mom received a phone call from the assistant principal. The school said that they had found Reagan disoriented and bleeding from her nose and her mouth and that they didn’t know what happened to her. “I told him that I needed to know if she had hit her head, or what type of incident she was in because she had a concussion before,” said Terra. The school said they couldn’t give her any details about the incident because there were no cameras were the altercation took place in the cafeteria. The assistant principal told her they would have to go by what witnesses saw. Terra says other students have told her that Regan was defending a friend that has autism. Supposedly a football player shoved her friend and Regan stepped up. “He got shoved, they said that Reagan got in front of him and told the football players to just leave him alone. And that’s when the football player shoved her. And that’s when they’re saying that they don’t know if she had him back but he hit her in the face multiple times,” says Terra. Regan spent three days at women’s and Children’s Hospital. She’s now home recovering and with the help of friends and family putting together the pieces on what happened that day. “She went to homecoming last weekend and she doesn’t remember that,” says Terra. Reagan has experienced severe memory loss. She can’t remember the last three months or what happened that day. The Boudreaux’s have been told that there is an investigation into what happened, but that isn’t enough. “You can’t tell me that it wasn’t intentional what he did. No he didn’t mean to give her a concussion or whatever but he meant to hit her and how many times did he hitter I don’t know,” says Terra. We reached out to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department and the school board, both said there is an investigation but gave no details.

Football is King in Louisiana, so I assume this football player played tonight (or last night) without any consequences. I believe in Texas, he would have been put in jail and arrested.

Basically, the football player (and other football players) were shoving an autistic student. This diminutive cheerleader stepped in the way to stop it.

For that, she was hit multiple times and ended up in ICU (Intensive Care Unit).

Criminals are supposed to be arrested. But I guess football players are the exception in Louisiana.

I believe this happened in the school cafeteria.

Regardless, it happened during school time. Not before or after.

Very sad, but strangely written story.

Prayers up for this young lady.

There should have been teachers on DUTY.

No excuse for that.

This football program needs to be dismantled for the rest of at least this year and possibly the next while they figure out how to teach the young thugballers not to hit women or bully students - and make it stick. Keep the program closed down until they do.

Football is bigger in Texas than anywhere hoss

Those of us who visit there or have family there or lived there like i do/did

Have seen your high school football stadiums which are unrivaled .....like college stadiums

I’ mean really.....Texas owns high school football lock stock and barrel like nowhere else

I catch the whiff of the anti-technology Amish. Punching small girls in the face is practically their national sport outside of the NFL or B-Ball.

On the left

The guy that hurt her should serve time.

At least it’s not as bad as what Cam Newton did.

I think so, too. Regan was dropped while cheerleading a few weeks ago, suffering a concussion. As a result of this pounding, she can’t remember anything for the last three months, let alone what happened that day.

Observers said Regan stepped in front of her autistic friend to protect her. She shoved the guy and he pounded her in the face several times.

She was hospitalized for three days.

I agree. A year in Angola should teach him how to be someone's girlfriend there.

I assume your post is sarcasm. Physically hitting a small female is much worse than Cam’s statements.

Might look into whether or not the players are shooting steroids to bulk up. I bet they are.

In the news video, the mother does all the talking while the father stares off into space. My guess is he’s thinking about how he’s going to get to the football player who hit his daughter and blow off his head.
