Paul Krugman, one of the sitting emperors among our media elite, and who is both a New York Times columnist and Nobel Prize winner, decided to use his verified Twitter account over the weekend to falsely hold President Trump responsible for a horrible outbreak of cholera in Puerto Rico.
There is just one problem
There is no outbreak of cholera in Puerto Rico.
Nevertheless, despite the fact he tweeted a blatantly false piece of fake news, Krugman has so far refused to delete the tweet. With its 14,000-plus re-tweets, Krugmans lie remains published and viral:

Sheesh!
He’s probably thinking of the cholera outbreak in Haiti, caused by UN soldiers’ poor sanitation practices and helped not one bit by Clinton Foundation promises that were never kept. Problem is, Krugman is a big-time Hillary fan...
Maybe Krugman was talking about himself. Every since Trump won Krugman has had a bad case of cholera of the mouth.
He must have had advance notice there was going to be one.........................and tweeted too early..................
Enough people will believe it to make it worthwhile.
Journalists who deliberately and repeatedly lie should be banned from the profession.
I believe in free speech, but when it comes to claims like this which are clearly untrue, it would seem to me the government would have a duty to prosecute for misleading the public.
In the case of a disaster situation, it could cause panic and harm to those living in the disaster region.
When the only motivating factor would be political, it’s simply not in the nation’s interest to allow this type of thing.
Under certain circumstances, I don’t think a fine would be enough either. They should serve prison time.

Krugmans lie remains published and viral... again:
I think you are right; a case could be made for criminally prosecuting Krugman. I hope this is done and even if the govt loses; hopefully, it will cost Krugman so much money, every journalist will think twice before they lie. Also, I wonder if this tweet could be considered an act of terrorism?
I think it was lofted to embellish the charge that Trump has somehow been negligent with regard to Puerto Rico.
I’m sure it is intended to move public opinion, but here it wouldn’t be out of direct fear, as much as simply wanting to get rid of Trump.
That seems political to me, even if I hate it. I do think it is a lie, and could be attacked for that with the intent to misinform the public and undermine the government.
Some might see it as an act of terrorism. It might also be seen as conspiring to harm the federal government.
You have to draft these things carefully, so simply disagreements don’t become a reason for the Left to charge folks with crimes for more normal things.
If we would have had our military base there in PR we would have a foot hold for operations. The government controls it all, the southwest side is totally obliterated, the mayor claims the airport is to congested with flights coming in and out yet there were only 10 flight in one day and no night flights because someone stole the generator for the runway lights. This is all political play and the people are the pawns
It's well known that he's a liar. Thanks ForYourChildren.
“This is all political play and the people are the pawns.”
Leftist liberal democrats and the opposition party, doing what they do best. Venezuela.
