But he also wonders what better platform exists. If the goal is to raise awareness and bring about change, the most effective place to do that is at a football game.

Maybe if it were your team, but it's not.

What the players don't want to acknowledge is that they are stealing the owners' brand image and the league's storefront to make their protest.

It's not theirs to use in an unauthorized way. That's trespassing, if not intellectual property theft (using another's logo or brand name to endorse your opinion).

The players don't like it when their images are used without their permission. Why aren't they respecting the same of the owners who don't want the team image used without their permission, too? The owners were dragged into this by their players, not by their own choice.

Cause its a “racist country”
Thats why
Thats what their antics are about
Cops shooting blacks is due to,white racism
( they dont mention blacks shooting blacks by the hundreds in their team cities)

We get what they’re saying
We either disagree with their broad rejection of our history and culture
Or we disagree with them using the flag ceremony for their personal platform - on our time and our dime
And/or we find virtue signaling at the expense of our country to be hypocritical at best
No one’s taking a knee for dead kids in Chicago, Baltimore and elsewhere

He cant piss on our legs and tell us its raining

Idiots. How much money will they all be making if no one watches their show? Who cares about their so-called “grievances”?

Coach "Bounty" - or the bounty coach - besides the ethics issues, pretty sure there were some penal code violations in there somewhere - but, no matter if administrative, coaches, staff or players, and no matter the crime, the National Felon League has their backs, takes care of their own. Corrupt & dysfunctional organization, full of reprobates.

“Do you know anyone who has been struck by lightning? Neither do most people. Yet each year an average of about 300 Americans are killed or injured by lightning. That's approximately 40 more than the number of blacks killed by the police in 2015. Is there an “epidemic” of Americans being struck and injured by lightning?”

Some perspective on the BLM lies...

I read 2Banana’s post to mean he disagrees with the quote from Vaccaro (which is placed second in the post).

I realize that, however, Kapernick was doing it to disrespect the flag. He even stated this country is still rife with racism, and that blacks were unjustly being targeted.

So when he & others did it they were supporting Kaepernick's original intent. He can not after the fact use the lame excuse that it was not meant to be disrespectful to the flag. That was what President Trump was referring to, not the right to protest an issue. So for them to chose to show their "unity" with Kaepernick at the playing of the national anthem, then they own the fact that they were disrespecting the flag.

I think he (2banana) & others are trying to semi-justify these players actions because they do not want to give up football. But sometimes we have to make sacrifices if we want real change to occur. I for one am fed up that everything has become politicized to divide this country. It needs to stop now before it escalates into Civil War, which is exactly where it is heading. Trust me, that will not be pretty if it spins further out of control.

I understand. I was just trying to say I read his post the opposite way you did. Has 2Banana clarified his point?

I have yet to hear any NFL player say he wishes Kapernick was his team’s QB. A good example NIMBY-ism. Or NOMT-ism. (Not on my team)
