'It's evil, it's the essence of evil'
A South Florida middle-school teacher is again igniting rage among local Christians by planning a satanic display encouraging children to hail Satan in a public city park during the upcoming Christmas season.
Preston Smith, a language-arts teacher at Boca Raton Community Middle School, is looking to erect a giant, 300-pound metal pentagram with messages including: May the Children Hail Satan, In Satan We Trust and One Nation under Antichrist.
But one local pastor is vowing to personally demolish the display with a sledgehammer.
In essence theyre putting out a welcome mat for Satan, Pastor Mark Boykin, of the Church of All Nations in Boca Raton told WPEC-TV.
I think this is reprehensible. I think its an insult to our city. Its evil, its the essence of evil. I will take the responsibility for taking the sledgehammer and knocking it down.
As disturbing as the display may be to some, city officials say they have little choice but to allow it.
I find this extremely offensive. But you know, again, weve chosen as the council to honor free speech, Susan Haynie, mayor of Boca Raton, told WPEC.

I wonder if a large pig statuary with slogans such as, all hail the anti-Mohammad, Allah is a cornflake, down with Islam, may children bow down to the anti-Islam, would be allowed?
The Satanic middle-school teacher probably has something else wrong with him - like he’s a meth addict, tax fraud or child molester. Get him arrested or exposed on that and the other problem goes away.
Satan is part of the Judeo-Christian religion, so the teacher is promoting religious beliefs.
He should use the sledgehammer on the “teacher.”
There are people who claim to be Satanists who observe their version of ‘worship’ in private and involve only themselves or those already dedicated to the dark arts.
There are other people, also claiming to be Satanists who see it as their mission to destroy, ruin, distort, degrade and pervert any sincere observation of the Christian faith.
This second group openly thrives on the energies of hate and negativity. Both kinds can be dangerous. Both kinds must be opposed as much as is legally possible, not yielded to.
If laws to prevent open war on Christianity don’t exist, we need to have them written asap.
OTH, he must believe of a God to believe in its antithesis.
Now fire him!
Leave it alone. People need to be reminded that Satan is real.
Florida seems to have as many wackadoodles as California does. Mainly their teachers.
So make her kneel to /Satan, make kneel by kicking her hard in the knee cap
Are they ok with it? They should take their kids out of this class.
Is he doing this again? He did it last year.
One of the liabilities of religious freedom is that you have to extend it to Satanists too. Many Christians are just like liberals in that regard. They only want freedom for their own religion. And actually only for their particular sect.
I don't know if you realize it, but the US constitution acknowledges Jesus Christ as "Our Lord" and it gives the President the Sabbath day off.
Preference for a specific religion was always baked into that cake. Look it up.
“Many Christians are just like liberals in that regard. They only want freedom for their own religion.”
I don’t have a problem with that.
This is a Christian nation.
Tough, don’t like it, move to Iran.
A sledge hammer is unnecessary. Prayer will suffice. Start now and, for some reason or another, the display will likely not be put up at Christmas.
.
Its a Biblical nation!
(at least that’s what Ben Franklin said when he went to Europe after the revolution)
Loving prayer will solve this problem much faster than anger.
Drop a kilo in his trunk and then notify the DEA.
