You weren’t stupid. There was no suitable alternative to Bush. And now we’re aware of what needs to be done, the can has been sent flying on down the road.
Perhaps not stupid—just young and foolish. Going for the Constitution party or writing in some one at the top of the ticket and the Pub VP at the bottom (after all, I’m voting for the electors-—let the lawyers figure that one out) has, more times than not, been more satisfying than the times I’ve voted for the Pub at the top of the ticket.
In the end, if it is close it will be determined by lawyers, and if it is not close, the individual vote doesn’t matter, so one may as well not vote for the lesser evil.
