My Gov. 101 prof in 1988 made the comment that the one thing all politicians stand for is re-election. Stupid me, I voted for Bush that fall.
You have three senators that demand leftism, and 1-2 that demand perfection.
Together you get nothing.
Dont whine about what is presented, do what Alabama did and start replacing dead weight.
This GOP is so status quo it is dumbfounding!
born in 68 We must be pretty close in age :)
I was busy watching “Network” in my poli sci class.
Getting a tax cut while the Congress rejected Trump’s government downsizing bill in favor of continued deficit spending. will add trillions more to the debt.
Sooner or later, the coyote is going to look down and see nothing but air between himself and the canyon floor. And no amount of flailing his legs will get him back to where he was.
This country doesn’t have the self-discipline to survive long-term as a republic.
You weren’t stupid. There was no suitable alternative to Bush. And now we’re aware of what needs to be done, the can has been sent flying on down the road.
“Its Embarrassing! Republicans Really Dont Want to Cut Taxes”
“Its Embarrassing! Republicans Really Dont Want to Repeal Obamacare”
“Its Embarrassing! Republicans Really Dont Want to __________”
Fill in the blank.
That is why they are called GOPe/RINO.
Paul Ryan sounded awfully smarmy just now on Hannity. Maybe he saw the election results from Alabama.
It is really more about not wanting to cut spending, which is the heroin of DC. We are already massively in debt and running large deficits, so without big spending cuts, you can’t have big tax cuts.
Well, we found out the Republicans were not on our side in the last couple of elections. This isn’t really a surprise anymore.
I wish we could have elections now and vote these bums out.
What tax cut? Based on what is published so far my taxes will go up by $1,600. Probably more since the standard deduction goes up so much good luck with that mortgage deduction, most of us will no longer reach the threshold to deduct.
Hate to admit it but for once the rats are right, great for corporations and the high income people but sucks for middle and lower middle class.
The increased automatic deduction is a smoke screen when you figure in we lost the personal exemption.
Once again I pay more, the rich and poor pay less. I am sick of bearing the brunt of every tax adjustment.
I wonder at what point does Rush throw up his arms in exasperation and say “Primary out these incumbents”!
I actually think he’s getting close.
We pay more as well. And we’re NOT rich! They “give” with one hand, and take more with the other. It’s all just S.O.S., a big sick joke. When the American People figure out how it impacts on them personally, most will be very pissed. Very.
I didn’t know mortgage interest deduction had a threshold, but I haven’t had a mortgage in a long time.
Looking at your profile, you’ve got a year and a bit on me. I had just turned 11 when Reagan was shot.
My Poli Sci Prof was old school—WW II vet who had served as an aid to MacArthur. No videos.
So you had a REAL class :)
I had no class lol Pun intended
We watched movies every week.
Being from Pace U, NYC, she was likely liberal, but at least didn’t blurt it out and kept us guessing.
I think there’s going to be a special tax on those making $5 million or more...Bannon pushed hard for that while he was around...said Trump would win over a whole bunch of dem’s with that little gem....
Perhaps not stupid—just young and foolish. Going for the Constitution party or writing in some one at the top of the ticket and the Pub VP at the bottom (after all, I’m voting for the electors-—let the lawyers figure that one out) has, more times than not, been more satisfying than the times I’ve voted for the Pub at the top of the ticket.
In the end, if it is close it will be determined by lawyers, and if it is not close, the individual vote doesn’t matter, so one may as well not vote for the lesser evil.
