"Strange was the incumbent. The President played by party rules. You will also note Trump said NOTHING negative about Roy Moore."

Actually he did. He said it would be really hard for Moore to win the general election, and it would have been nice if he could get "Ray" Moore's name straight. Hopefully, the 2 x 4 up side the head will wake him up that the base it not going to follow him blindly and he should stop listening to his Javanka advisers.

Hurrah! I have always admired Judge Moore. Trump got some very bad advice from some very bad advisers. The Donald backed the wrong horse!

Right -- I was scratching my head over that one.

"President Trump calls NFL players who won't stand for the national anthem 'sons of b!tches.' NFL players all defiantly stand for the national anthem ten days later in a show of unity against the president. His support is obviously declining rapidly."

WTF?

Exactly. Trump got some bad advice from God only know where. Something or someone changed his mind and he started a slow pivot which culminated in his half-hearted speech in Huntsville.

But if Trump had endorsed Moore and Strange won, it would have been a lose-lose. He did the right thing “politically” since Strange hadn’t been anything but supportive in the interim and despite all Mitch could do, the right guy won. Win-win - didn’t further alienate the GOPe infants and got a solid Senator - once Alabama and others help seat Moore....

President Trump probably delivered one of the most faint of endorsements to Luther Strange that has ever been registered by a sitting President, and he also signaled that Roy Moore would be entirely acceptable.

The deal here was that Trump would APPEAR to be conciliatory toward Mitch McConnell, in hopes that a carrot would work better than a stick in wheedling McConnell to get busy and do the job he was supposed to, marshaling the Presidential nominations for various posts through the Senate, and blowing up the filibuster rule once and for all, plus applying some good old-fashioned party discipline to the Republican majority in the Senate. A majority, that by the way, would not have existed except for the presence of Donald Trump as the Presidential candidate in 2016.

Believe it or not, Trump DID have some coattail effect on the election, that simply would not have been there with any other Republican candidate. Trump brought out a LOT of people that would otherwise have simply stayed home, and Herself would have won by default.

Of course, by now Herself would have fallen again and again, flat on her face, and not just because of the Chardonnay. Pennsylvania Avenue would have to be renamed Faceplant Street. The Congress would have been falling on its face too, if a Democrat majority had been delivered to the Senate, and the House Republicans pared down to a bare majority.

And the Supreme Court would have been lost for a generation or more.

If Trump endorsed Strange just to show Mitch that not even Trump can save Rinos, that would be off the chart clever.

Trump n the GOP came out against Moore. Because trump said he isn’t electable in the general. They love corruptocrat strange tho.
Sounds like they don’t want Moore to win the general. Why?
Trump calls the people he disagrees with great guys on a pretty regular basis.
Trump, Pelosi n shumer have another deal going on. #RollTide And you can keep your corruptocrat strange trump.

You're absolutely right. Trump's endorsement of Strange as being a loyal Trumpster, drove voters out of bed and right to the polls.....for Moore.

Let's see where Strange winds up.

Predictable bias from one of the organs of the DC UniParty.

Yep - Strange still has potential to be useful despite some of his "irregularities" as far as being a bit on the corrupt side (as far as politicians go). Trump now has more options than if he had endorsed Moore over Strange.

Hope Moore prevails in the final election and proves to be what we all hope he will be.
