NBC's Brian Williams won the Dan Rather Memorial Award for the Stupidest Analysis at the Media Research Center's 30th Anniversary Gala last night in Washington, D.C.

The audience awarded Williams with the prize for comments he made on MSNBC on Nov. 26, 2016, the night that Cuba's Communist dictator, Fidel Castro, died.

Speaking of that nation impoverished by socialism, Williams said that people there would rather have "donkey carts" than cars and trucks as a mode of transportation.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R.-N.C.) accepted the award, saying: "Brian Williams would have been here but he is flying in a helicopter somewhere over Iraq."

Brian has always seemed to me like he had a head injury at some point in his life.

He’s just not sharp, at all.

I don’t know how smart Brian is. But I would be in favor of a law that required all TV journalists to identify themselves with their true legal names and their SAT scores.

Ya gotta admit, that IS a pretty nice suit Brian was wearing with President Lincoln there. I remember when he did other things:

Let’s not minimize his achievement. He beat a lot of world-class competition.

“Williams said that people there would rather have “donkey carts” than cars and trucks as a mode of transportation.”

Yes, when they wash up on the beaches in Florida the first thing they ask is “Where can I get me a good donkey cart?”
