While taking a knee made some sense to protest being told you had to stand up for the anthem, the protest is no longer about the anthem, it’s about the left-wing NFL vs. Trump. And having to kneel to protest Trump as a supremacist, dictator, hitler, whatever-they-say-he-is-this-week isn’t quite the posture you’d prefer.
On the other hand, it kind of fits, because the left doens’t really “stand for” anything - they just protest things.
