HICKORY HILLS, IL -- Kristina and Daniel Price gripped each other’s hands during a bond hearing Saturday afternoon at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building, as they listened to a Cook County prosecutor describe their brother Johnny’s last moments of life. John Price, 35, was stabbed to death last week while working the night shift at Arby’s in Hickory Hills. The man accused of his murder, Irvin Thomas, 26, is a fellow employee.
Sometime around 10 p.m. Sept. 20, the prosecutor said that Price, a popular night manager of Arby's at 95th Street and Roberts Road, was working the night shift with Thomas. According to the charges, Thomas went into the restaurant’s kitchen area and grabbed a knife. Thomas reportedly walked to the front of the restaurant where Price was working and began stabbing him in the torso. A customer waiting to be served at the drive-through window saw Thomas slashing Price, the prosecutor said. The customer drove to a safe spot and called police.
The entire incident was captured on the restaurant’s interior security cameras, the prosecutor said. As Thomas repeatedly stabbed Price, he allegedly picked his boss up by the back of his uniform and threw Price out of the restaurant’s back door. Price walked a few steps but collapsed, calling for help. His ear had been sliced off among other multiple stab wounds. When Hickory Hills police officers arrived Price was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Another IQ-of-85 victim of racism. Maybe he’ll get an equally stupid judge to run his trial, and get let off with a slap on the wrist, like that homey who punched out his high-school principal earlier this week.

Stop arresting and putting them in hands of the just us courts. Take them out at the scene.
At my first job as a bagboy, I begged the management to fire two (white) workers. One had something seriously wrong in his head. He was a fine worker, but when he left the store and started towards his car he’d start giggling. He’d get into his car and chase other employees who had to sprint to their cars. It was very dangerous. In a short period after he started driving, he totaled several cars in single car accidents, usually by rolling them. He injured himself in the last accident, so badly that he had to leave work.
The other was just too stupid to be around. After being warned not to, he poured a gallon of bleach and a gallon of ammonia into a bucket so he could mop the floor. The store had to be evacuated. (I knew there was a problem when a wave of rodents scurried past me and out the front doors.) You might think that would be sufficient cause, but you’d be wrong. We all went to restock another store that had been remodeled. During a break he was smoking in the back room. He asked another employee what the thing was on the water pipe that was affixed to the bottom of the stairs and in easy reach. The employee told him it was a sprinkler head and it would go off if the temperature got too hot. The kid held his lighter under it and flicked it on. The result was everything in the store had to be thrown away. Finally, they fired him. (Frankly, if I had been running the company, I’d have fired the manager for letting him stay. These were only the two most dangerous things he did. There was a plethora of other issues.)
My point is, most likely the company had sufficient warning that this employee was a problem long before this incident happened. Yes, you have to be more careful firing people today. The key is document, document, document.
That cure is worse than the disease.
Yeah, black lives matter.
White ones not so much.

“Fetal Alcohol Syndrome” is what his face reminds me of.
If so, he has always been ‘compromised’ re; basic intelligence and impulse control. He always will be that way.

I’ve long advocated that the convicted should be at the mercy of the victim’s family (if there is one), or the state if the family chooses to defer to the state.
The family should be given carte blanche, and full immunity.
No doubt that would deter crime, as the perp would think twice since there would be a wide range of possible outcomes if convicted.
That seems to be the thought these days and it is not working. Swift conclusive justice works IMO especially in a war which this has become. It is not so much a black white issue is one between a group that believes society is against them for reasons they believe is none of their own doing.
Hickory Hills.....What are the odds that the offender is a recent convert to the religion of peace?
Think of this as the All American NFL Sunday unfolds with a big FU from players,teams and owners to the country protesting for the rights of vermin like this.
Was it his first murder?.
Definitely disconnected. It was only “a bad thing”.
