"Hysteria is starting to spread. The hospital is about to collapse. It's at capacity," Mayor Jose Sanchez Gonzalez of the north coastal town of Manati told the Associated Press Saturday, crying. "We need someone to help us immediately."

Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló told The Weather Channel they were attempting to reach the most remote areas of the island by helicopter, as travel has been crippled by debris and downed power lines on Puerto Rico's roads. Officials said Saturday they still could not communicate with more than half the territory's towns.

Local newspaper El Nuevo Dia reported Saturday evening that the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency were attempting to take control of a tanker loaded with fuel that was adrift in the sea near Salinas. The agencies are concerned that a spillage could occur should the tanker run aground.

they could start darting people(the unhinged ones at least) with sedatives.

that might help.

I honestly don’t know if this is sarcasm or not.

What happened to hospital ships? Surely there is at least some equivalent in the U.S. Navy capable of responding!

Sadly, Puerto Rico is a lot like Cuba, badly managed by corrupt liberal, socialist, politicians of all stripes. They have no young people (they all have left to live better lives in the USA), they are bankrupt, and their public infer-structure is poorly maintained or non-functioning. The USA Virgin Islands are in the same shape.

However, The US Military, FEMA, and the public charities will bring Puerto Rico back to life. POTUS, Trump is watching over PR. He is a New York street kid and he knows how valuable Puerto Ricans living in NY, NJ & Florida have been to the USA economically and in supporting the USA military, big time!!! Folks from PR are like the Cubans living in Miami & South Florida, loyal, hard working American citizens that love America!!!

Trump is way ahead of this game.

President Trump has declared that major disasters exist in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Trump made the declarations official Wednesday night, according to the White House.

My cousin Tom’s widow is probably in Aguada near Mayaguez. she is 70 years old and went down to take care of her brother who is blind and semimobile just before the storm hit. Tom’s surviving brothers and sister, ten of them are very concerned and two who can take the time are trying to get down there. The rest of us have pooled funds so if he can hire a plane or a boat he can get down there with some supplies. The plane would be easier except none are allowed to take off with that destination except government and designated organizations’ ACs. One cuz, a retired army colonel is trying to attach himself to one of the groups.

Why else do you think they wanted to become a state?

They’ve always hated us otherwise.

They won’t be able to do it. Trump has already sent the was on it immediately. If CNN or Peolsi/Schumer try to Bushify Trump they will only look bitchy no matter how much aid they get from the rest of the left.

Their infrastructure when it is built back needs to be hardened to be able to withstand hurricanes...the total loss of utilities is the worst of this deal.

This is sad. Pray for the people affected by these storms and the aid workers. The Salvation Army, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, and the Red Cross are already on the scene (the three largest relief organizations in the US) and organizations like Samaritan’s Purse will be as well, no doubt.

And this is why people need to prep.

And this is why all those who were pooh-poohing the people who evacuated FL are full of it.

Yes, if possible; it’s a good idea in this day and age.
