The owners, the league, and the players’ union have had over a year to fix this. This started under Obama’s watch, well before Trump was Elected. They just hoped it would go away or that no one would care. They have way underestimated this one.
Their ‘product’ is marginalized. I don’t see a recovery coming. Toss in the anticipated brain-injury situation getting worse. I’d say they have less than a decade of existence left in them.
