English speaking Germans tried to divert allied attacks by issuing phony orders over the radio to fighter squadrons. It worked sometimes.

Perhaps a psyop from Kim?

Until they were asked "Who won the 1941 World Series?"

On one occasion, the Germans got a fighter squadron that was flying cover for a bombing mission to stop covering the bombers and head for another target. The squadron was several minutes in the new direction before someone figured it out. Much longer, and the Germans would have moved in and wrecked the bombers.

Is our military using soldiers personal cell phones to communicate with them?? If so, in Korea, THAT is a big mistake.

How is it the military thinks the senders of the fake messages KNEW the cell phone numbers of our soldiers??

BIG security problem.

It demands radical immediate changes, not mere looking to identify who do it and prevent it next time.

Kim’s living in the dark ages. We need to be prepared for historical war tactics, both for defense and readiness.

If I were in the military in South Korea right now, my family would be stateside.

We have no idea what each day will bring now.

Trump won’t telegraph anymore than he already has.

Kim is on notice. There may be more rhetoric, but next, we roll without warning.

China and Russia are already expecting it.

As Irma approached Florida somebody put out a faked, official looking evacuation order for the coastal county below the capital. It was all over the Internet in hours. Virtually all of my renters fled the state when they didn’t have to. It cost them money and put them on the road when only 200 gas stations in the entire state had gas. I haven’t read another word about it, but I would hope the FBI is looking into who did it.

Why do people do things like this? There was a case when some college students stole signs for decoration. Somebody drove through an intersection missing a stop sign they’d stolen and was killed. The kids went to prison. This fake evacuation order could cause similar fatalities by sending people out in a storm when there is no need. I’d like to see them caught and punished.

For many years, Korea was an “unaccompanied” assignment. When did they start allowing families in Korea?

I’m reacting to the false alert.

If families are not allowed to accompany our men over there, I apologize for the confusion. My mistake.

I don’t know if Korea is still an “unaccompanied” assignment or not. That’s why I posed the question. If I was there with my family, they would have been long gone headed home months ago!....red

Thanks red.

I wasn't upset by your note. It was a reasoned question.

My son went to Korea, it was a two year assignment if he took the family one if he went alone. He chose the latter.

I didn’t find anything definite on the internet, but I did find a couple of things that seemed to suggest that the answer was ‘no’ for a one year tour and ‘yes’ for a 3 year tour.

Thanks Dan(9698).

I appreciate the mention. That should help clarify what is taking place.

Thanks PAR35. I appreciate your efforts.

Not sure if you caught it, but the post right above yours addressed it too.

His post termed it a bit different, but along the same lines.

Thanks, no, I didn’t see the other post - I had a reply window open while I was digging. I’ll yield to Dan’s info. Unlike me on this issue, he likely knows what he is talking about.

You both may be right, depending.

They may expand and contract the 2-3 year term portion of it.
