China's earthquake administration said on Saturday it had detected a magnitude 3.4 earthquake in North Korea that was a "suspected explosion", but it was still unclear whether the nation had actually conducted a new nuclear test.
Amid a growing war of words between Pyongyang and Washington, Chinese officials said in a statement on its website that the quake, which occurred around 0830 GMT, was recorded a depth of zero kilometres.
Previous quakes from North Korea have indicated nuclear tests by the reclusive state, the most recent earlier this month. The quake was centred near North Korea's nuclear test site.
'Unlikely man-made'
South Korea's weather agency said it was analyzing the nature of the quake, and its initial view was that it was a natural earthquake.
Shortly after, the nuclear proliferation watchdog CTBTO said that the seismic activity on the Korean Peninsula took place around 50 kilometers from prior tests. Lassina Zerbo, the executive secretary of the agency said there were actually two seismic activities. In a tweet, Zerbo said that the quake is "unlikely man-made." Analysts from the agency are still investigating.

Fat Boy’s folks playing with more explosives would seem to be likely since rarely do earthquakes keep happening in exactly the same place over and over. Yes, it does happen but as frequent as the recent ones, I’m going to say “explosion”.
My conclusion is MOUNTAIN has collapsed from previous nuclear tests...
Oh, you mean Mount Paektu, on the border between North Korea and China? If we suddenly get a whole series of earthquakes there, I'd evacuate everything within 250 km (155 miles) of that mountain because of the potential an eruption as big as Tambora in 1815. And that's the type of eruption that could significantly cool Earth's climate for a decade or more.
Discussion of MOUNTAIN collapsing was that horizontal tunnel was dug for all 6 nuclear tests. Too hard to dig down for tests. But this also was reason MOUNTAIN might collapse.
Should be radio-active fallout detected first in Russia, then China, and finally South Korea. Japan is farthest away, so they might detect radiation next.
Their weather agency is in charge of detecting and interpreting earthquakes?

Maybe Mother Nature will take care of this situation.
The deepest mine is in South Africa (AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng gold mine) at a depth of 3.9 km. The get frequent rock bursts and it is very hot and difficult. Fat Boy hasn’t the ability to go anywhere near this deep. Now, the mountain could well be collapsed or a deeper fault could be moving. We’ll have to see if the volcano is a possibility, it doesn’t seem so now.

The previous detonation happen MUCH closer to the surface. This was 3 miles down. No one is building chambers for that 3 miles down.
Now WHY in the hell would there be an earthquake centered in Pyunggyeri, of all places, the site of underground nuke tests for the DPRK, and somehow it is “natural event”?? Something stinks big time. Did they rush to set something off as a show of force and in anger over being called “rocket man” but something did not go right and the explosion was much smaller? Or non-nuclear but conventional explosives feigning nuke test?
Or, mountain implosion from too many nuke tests for it to hold up, which was also predicted by some and worried about by the Red Chinks.
