Good idea.
NOBODY should get birthright citizenship.
Children born to Citizen parents should get automatic Residency, but not Citizenship.
When they complete the requirements for Naturalization they become Citizens. They can take the test when they complete high school.
Legal Immigrants have to go through the same process but on their own time.
Illegal immigrants should never have this option.

Yes, it’s a major problem.

That it hasn’t been addressed before now, should have woken us up to how corrupt our government has become.

You get out much do you? Anchor babies are just that, an anchor that prevents deportation and ''anchors'' a family illegally here. It then initiates daisy chain immigration. Read the 14th. Amendment. Liberals have twisted it into pretty much meaning anybody born here is a citizen. Children born here to foreign diplomats aren't citizens. Children bought here illegally, whether they 2 years old or 20 are not citizens , no matter how long they reside here. They and every other illegal alien are subject to the jurisdiction of their place of origin. Birthright citizenship should be prohibited to people here illegally. People who have entered the country illegally are criminals, they have violated the law. Their offspring should not be rewarded with citizenship.

Parents have no constitutional right to stay because their child was born here. The baby’s citizenship doesn’t prevent the parents from being deported. Does it surprise you to here that there are plenty of newly birthed citizens whose noncitizen parents are here legally? The 14th is clear and it’s intention was clear at the time. Many blacks were born to illegal immigrants during slavery. The 14th made them citizens. But there is nothing about it that would prevent the policy of family unification from being eliminated since it is not in the US Constitution. The 14th is not going to get wished or legislated out of existence because conservatives don’t like policies the left has built around it.

The 14th. Amendment has been perverted by Leftist for decades and even more so know in order to create a voter base. Just how is a ‘’noncitizen’’ here legally? Are you referring to foreign diplomats? If they have children here they’re not considered citizens. Blacks during the time of slavery were illegal immigrants’’? Really? And who were they and who declared them ‘illegal’’? To my knowledge the was no Department Of Immigration or Immigration And Naturalization Service at the time. Blacks in America at that time were bought here as slaves and that was the original intention for the 14th. Amendment.. It’s an amendment to the Constitution. It can be changed. In the mean time I’d suggest you do a little more research into Constitutional law and US history.

Yes many blacks were illegal immigrants having been brought here illegally and never having citizenship. You realize many blacks were smuggled into this country? So if you enter the country illegally but live here you are an illegal immigrant. The 14th was in part about making sure their children were legal. Have you ever heard of the term “tourist” that is just one example of a non citizen being here legally. Try reading up on maternity tourism. The legally here, noncitizen, tourist have babies here and they are citizens. For someone who is worried about how much I get it out you dont seem to be well informed about all the various means of being here legally and having a citizen baby.

Politically the 14 th isn’t going away and neither is B.R.C. but that does not mean the current policy of family unification need continue since it is not a constitutional amendment. See most the problems can be ended without touching the 14th. You are following the red herring that the left is waiving around. Quit worry about the 14th and try to rail against something can be changed.

I know all about ‘’birthright tourism’’ but that's a jump from what I thought the subject of what we were discussing re the meaning of the 14th. Amendment. I'll be blunt: Your argument , as I see it, is a barely disguised attempt to do exactly what you're telling me to ignore and that's the Lefts attempt to not have the 14th. Amendment changed. The left lives in fear of having the 14th. Amendment applied as it was meant to.To me you're a veritable open borders advocate and frankly, I've no wish to communicate with any more.

Wait a minute, are you saying that children born to parents that are US citizen should have to go through the naturalization process? You're out of your mind.

For your information, when legal residents go through the process of becoming US Citizen through Naturalization, their children will automatically become citizen if they are born in the same country as the parents.

When I made my citizenship in 1977 my son became automatically a US citizen because he was still a minor.

I think the children of citizens should have to become citizens through the same process as immigrants do. Their only advantage is that they begin instuction in school and get to take the test before they graduate high school.
I think that what is lightly bestowed is not appreciated. And I think crap like BLM and Antifa shows that I am correct.

There is no reason for brc to result in anchor babies or family unification the 14th does not support either one. To keep trying to get rid of the 14th because of them is futile. And your mention of children coming and staying is way outside the 14th. You are a tool of the left shilling for something that will never happen while ignoring the laws you can fix. Without getting rid of the 14th family unification and the anchor baby ploy could be ended right away.

The left only lives in fear of those who will focus on results, less immigration, and laughs at those chasing unicorns.

if you think the 14th will be repealed your the delusional one. If you won’t work to overturn family unification you are deluded. If you wish not to receive replies to your posts then your probably best served by not posting.

Your confusing sarcasm and put downs for irony. Name calling is the usual last resort for liberals when the cannot handle a factual argument.

Now you add swearing to the name calling and put downs, all things liberals do when they wish to silence debate. I never you said you were a liberal.

The 14th Amendment does not protect illegal minors or establish family unification. It doesn’t allow illegal immigration. It is a really simple thing. If you are born here you are a citizen except for a few narrow exceptions and the citizenship status of your parents doesn’t matter. That’s it. If you wish to undo family unification you don’t have to touch the 14th. If you wish to eliminate illegal immigration you don’t have to touch the 14th. The left would like you to stay focused on the least likely thing to happen, overturning a 150 year old amendment, and ignore doing what you can.

I guess closing your ears would be the next step. I did not realize you were talking to me it was hard to hear over the barrage of insults. Is there anything you wish to add about the 14th amendment?
