Even so, he would be a freshman RINO, with little power on committees besides his vote in the Republican column. So a lot would be up to the conservative senators to convince him to not strongly challenge them, at least at first, as he will be coming up for re-election in the mid-term (2011), and the conservatives may be considerably stronger in the senate.
And since Christie is term limited, his choice of a senator will figure strongly in any ambitions he has in holding elective or appointive office in the future.
Yep, there are a lot of variables in the run up to and election season, and they are trending strongly not just to Republicans but conservatives. We are really close to finally taking over the reigns of the party, but once the RINO roadblocks are gone, to follow through with the conservative agenda big time.
