Spain has the second highest amount of unmarked mass graves in the world, only beaten by Cambodia. It could get ugly. Not Franco ugly but a lot of vendettas and scores to settle.
People say OUR Civil War still is an obsession.
Spain has only papered-over the multi-dimensional fissures, that are as fresh as they’ve always been from theirs.
My grandfather fought in the Spanish civil war. My mother survived it. Understanding the first hand stories of what happened and personally knowing the tensions of these two regions - this is bad.
Perhaps not Franco bad as that was a civil war complete with air bombs. But, hopefully this won’t inspire ETA to do their share of damage.
