After slightly slowing for the past 15 years, global warming is once again rising more quickly due to a decade-long weather pattern that warms and cools the Pacific, Britain's meteorological office said Monday.
The Met Office said the rate of global warming slowed between 1999 and 2014, but has now picked up due to a "flip" in the Pacific weather pattern.
"The end of the recent slowdown in global warming is due to a flip in Pacific sea-surface temperatures," said Adam Scaife, head of climate predictions at the Met Office.
"This was due to a change in the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, which entered its positive phase, warming the tropics, the west coast of North America and the globe overall," he said.

I thought we were told that it wasn’t slowing at all ... that we’ve been heading for doom at speeds that boggle the imagination.

Climate change is measured over a 30 year period.
In 1982 the World Meteorological Organization updated climate normals based climate data from January 1, 1961 to December 31, 1990.
We are still completing the first 30 year climate change assessment.......EVER DONE.
Any temperature analysis less than 30 years long, like this 15 year study, is not about climate changes.
It is about weather changes.
BTW, what are we doing listening to these weather morons trying to judge global warming based on such skimpy data?
Other than tree rings and ice CO2 (tests that only happen in isolated locations) they wouldn’t know climate change if it rode by them on a bicycle.
1-The is NO man-made global warming, so there is nothing to “speed up”.
2-Why, after 18 years of contrary data, do they suggest the non-existent event is “speeding up”?
3-Why are they so desperate to cite a “cause” for this reversal, without first admitting that any recent evidence is lacking?
Considering most of the world is remote, uninhabited, or ocean, I’ve never understood why anyone believes we accurate global climate data that pre-dates the satellite era.
Any sinusoidal pattern will eventually flip and then flip back.

Some may think I am a skeptic but I do remember living through and surviving the ‘Ice Age’ of the 1970s.
It became ‘Global Warming’ but when the LIBs ships kept getting stuck in the ice while they were in Antarctica observing the melting of the icebergs ‘they’ had to change it to Climate Change so as to allow ‘them’ the chance of flipping what is in danger.
The TRUE meaning of everything came out last week when Hillary(I THINK) was credited with being a BELIEVER in climate change.

The DMSP satellite program has been measuring Earths temp since the 1960’s. No discernible change.
