A Raleigh teacher learns from DACA: "I am both Mexican and American" [she says otherwise]

My identity is complex. I am not American. I am not Mexican...I am stuck in the middle somewhere.

... I remember asking my teachers in elementary school if they could help me get a Social Security number.

...As I grew older, there were things that my parents cautioned me against “porque no eres Americana” – because you’re not American...Be wary of who you trust, porque no eres Americana. You never know who could turn you in. Be wary on the road, porque no eres Americana. A routine traffic stop could change your life completely. Be wary of your surroundings, porque no eres Americana. A raid could happen anywhere. Be careful of how you spend your money, porque no eres Americana. You might need that money to help bring you back. Be wary of the company you keep, porque no eres Americana. Your American friends can do as they please, but you can’t.

No eres Americana. Every decision in my life has been clouded by this thought.

The reality of the Dreamers' identity is complex. It is a true human drama, and often a tragedy.

What we're looking for in citizens and lawful residents are people who are loyal our Constitutional Republic, which requires a great respect for law and order. Will all Dreamers who are amnestied be inclined to loyalty to the Constitution, simply because they have lived here for a number of years? An optimist might hope so, but what is the reality?

And do all Dreamers really have nowhere better to live?

They all speak Spanish and thanks to the American taxpayer, they speak English too, which will make them more employable in their own country.

What we’re looking for is a return to the rule of law and the removal of illegal aliens.

They’re bilingual. They could go back to their home country, Mexico. They could get a job with Hyatt, Marriott or any other international company.

American kids grow up in foreign countries all the time while their parents serve away from home. Then they all go home to America.

How’s that for an American Dream Plan? Go Home!

Once they are back in their home country Mexico they can apply to immigrate here, just like everyone else. But they aren’t entitled to jump the queue.

No, the wetback is correct. Mexicans and all the people living on either of the American Continents are "Americans".

(but she's not a US citizen)

It’s a sad story, all around. But, it’s not my sad story. These people may have come here when they were too young to do anything about it, but at some point they become adults and responsible for their own actions. Since they choose to stay here illegally, they have made their decision. Sue Barack Obama (and GW Bush, and several others) but stop stealing from my grandchildren’s legacy. Illegals, go home.

It’s a sad story, all around.

Not as sad as in other countries. Some centuries back, Spain kicked out all the muslims and jews. At least, those who weren't killed. Middle Eastern countries kicked out jews; at least, those who weren't tortured and killed. African countries routinely massacre those from elsewhere who aren't of the same tribe in power. Look at what happened to whites in Zimbabwe (after whites lost power in Rhodesia). Same goes in other countries, like Cambodia, Thailand, etc. where Chinese were pushed out.

Illegal aliens of Mexican background have it easy in the USA. They're not getting tortured, raped, robbed and stripped of belongings before deportation. USA has treated them very well. Not so sad, in comparison to what happens elsewhere in the world.

Residents of all stripes (including diplomats) have a moral obligation to respect the societies they live in.

BOTTOM LINE, FOLKS...like it or not

We must be open to giving DACA's legal status and work papers. Unfortunately, that also means that eventually they WILL be permitted to become citizens and vote, regardless of ANYTHING Congress passes into law. The reason? Liberal judges and SCOTUS justices will mandate it, using 14th Amendment and VRA reasoning, under intense media and cultural pressure, eventually.

So we have to DEAL on this. Here are the MINIMUMS we must insist upon:
(1) A WALL MUST BE AGREED TO, FUNDED and BUILT.
(2) There can be NO chain migration for these people. Their parents brought them illegally, if valid DACAs. But the rest of the family MUST not be able to benefit.
(3) And those lawbreaking parents must be DEPORTED (Obama's "DAPA" farce, which courts have already tossed out).
(4) EVERY SINGLE DACA case must be REVIEWED, including verifcation of all documentation, because one ICE agent has already testified before Congress that "perhaps 50% of applications are fraudulent." That is a BOMBSHELL claim. If we can invalidate 400,000 DACAs we should make every effort to do so.

No, it’s not a sad story. The sad story is all the American citizens who have been raped or murdered by illegals.

AND NOT ONE F’N POLITICIAN CARES. If they did, the illegals would be on the first bus to Mexico and the wall would already be up.
