Without something like the Raise act to reduce family based immigration, when the Dreamers become citizens, parents and siblings follow. I wonder if DJT thinks they would vote for him. He did better than expected with the Hispanic vote last year, but maybe legal Hispanics liked his platform opposing illegal immigration.
Dreamers plus their sisters, Brothers, parents, uncles, aunts, Grandparents, Cousins and so on!!
I think they did. There’s a lot of crime in the Hispanic community, gangs and all.
If some guy said he was going to crack down on gangs and deport the illegal aliens, I think it would sell.

You are absolutely correct regarding RAISE Act~it would be excellent in eliminating/reducing chain migration.
No other country allows for this.

Honestly if that damn wall isn’t significantly built by the next pres election year - he’s toast and I hope and pray if that is the case that he is bought down and I wouldn’t give a rats ass if he was thrown in jail along with all the other NY Liberal family members of his. Let them rot. It was never about him - its the agenda he stood so bravely for.
On the other hand - if he does, you know, what he said he’d do - you can make him President for life as far as I’m concerned.
In all seriousness, he’s walking a thin line at the moment. I could just about stomach a bit of amnesty if it led to the wall IMMEDIATELY and lots of illegals getting thrown out. I mean that politically speaking, although morally it is a repugnant compromise.
If he makes a deal with the devil based on a ‘promise’ and ‘hope’ of funding further down the line - well he’s just as much a moron as people have said all along.
DACA does NOT provide a path to Citizenship.
If these DACA aliens are allowed to stay; they should not be citizens - only legal residents who can work but not vote and not bring anyone else in. They should be able to apply for citizenship and get in line behind those who have already applied. The RAISE Act will mean they have to show skills we need to become a citizen so no more low skilled people.
Then, and this is the most important thing, all illegals must leave immediately. Fast track all appeals to stay as denied and let them apply from their home country but they must leave now or never be able to become a citizen ever if they stay and get caught.
E-Verify must be the law of the land with a tip line to report businesses who hire illegals. Those businesses must be fined at least a years pay at minimum wage for each illegal they hire and be given one warning they will lose their business license if they hire another one.
The time for pussy footing around is over. It’s time to get serious and get tough.

This is a horrid bill. It expands DACA by allowing some convicted criminals, lowering the bar still further on education, etc.
It is terrible! And reportedly Trump is coughing it up with absolutely no deal on wall funding, the Raise Act, etc.
This new DACA bill does provide a direct path to citizenship.
Sounding like we may have been betrayed by Trump. Words of Steve Bannon about how the Donald Trump presidency we fought for being effectively over are starting to echo loud and clear. Sounds like the Democrats may have serious dirt on Trump or maybe this is just him, abandoning his campaign promises and positions more quickly than he got rid of General Flynn and son.
Whether 800k or 2 million, it is an exceptionally bad idea for America, not to mention a betrayal of Trump voters and of other patriotic Americans. Our government must not reward criminal behavior. No Amnesty. Ever.
