A New Obama? The Media Starts Selling Abdul El-Sayed
pjmedia.com ^ | 9/5/2017 | Bruce Bawer

On August 24, the Guardian ran an unusually long profile of one Abdul El-Sayed, a 32-year-old Muslim doctor and son of Egyptian immigrants who is already campaigning heavily for governor of Michigan, even though the election won't take place until November of next year. The headline on Drew Philp's article dubbed El-Sayed “the new Obama.”

It was the ultimate puff piece, shameless in its utter lack of objectivity and balance, and it began, as such pieces invariably do, with an anecdote calculated to win sympathy for the subject. When he was seven years old, writes Philp, El-Sayed “sat in the eye of Hurricane Andrew,” drinking juice “while swaddled under mattresses between his father and stepmother, who was holding El-Sayed’s newborn baby brother just home from the hospital.”

What does this story have to do with anything? For Philp, it is a metaphor: “At the moment,” he suggests, “American politics feels a bit like being in the eye a hurricane.” Donald Trump is ready to attack North Korea; neo-Nazis paraded in Charlottesville. “No one man can stop the hurricane,” admits Philp. “But in Michigan, a grown-up El-Sayed is now having a go, trying to keep the storm at bay.” El-Sayed, you see, seeks “not just to win, but also to change American politics itself” by becoming “the first Muslim governor in US history.”

What could possibly go wrong?

Sounds like a George Soros plant to me.

Who would go through all of the hell of formal schooling and an internship to become an M.D., and then walk away from it at age 32 to enter politics?

Wouldn’t moving to the ME wipe out the hurricane risk?

Because don’t you know, Christians are a problem but Muslims are the salt of the earth, the most patriotic and hard-working just wanting to make a living for themselves and their families. Just like illegals, transgenders, journalist and whatever other nonsense they can think of.

Immigration folks. You don’t get Muslim Governors until you flood your state with Muslims.

With that name, nothing will go wrong on the national level, at least not anytime soon. Now, if those were his middle names, that could be downplayed with initials, it might be a different story.

He could easily become a governor in a heavily Democratic state, though, which is bad enough.

Even if he said he wasn’t Muslim Brotherhood I would not believe him because: taqiyya.

Submit or Die

That is the prime directive of Islam.

Elect muslims at your own risk.

He could win in Michigan.

Actually, I knew a. muslim family from Michigan for decades and decades. Their forefathers had come as poor immigrants perhaps a hundred years ago, opened little grocery store, turned it into a $100 million shopping center/supermarket behemoth, gave generously to universities, libraries, and had a son who was a doctor. Daughters were lawyers. Not a veil or koran in sight. Tremendously good citizens.

Would I vote for their son? Nah, but for other reasons. I might vote for one of their daughters, who had all the right stuff. I doubt Obama would back them, however. Not radical lefties.

Michigan has been a lost state for along time.....a key target state by Muslims ....a go to state...and easy access to and from Canada so always a place to ‘run to’ if things get dicey for them. Families in both countries assures them of this.

Maybe he wasn't a very good doctor? Maybe he didn't like the hours. Its not that unusual but it does make one wonder. Distant family member went through Duke Med School and specialized as an OB/GYN. Turns out she hated the hours, e.g. being called in at three AM Sunday morning for a delivery. She gave up her practice.*

He will carry Dearborn and Hamtranck right? Don't know enough about Michigan politics to know if he has a chance.

*: on a side note, she is still on the hook with respect to malpractice insurance for every child she delivered until they reach the age of 18.

Michigan has been known to hold the largest Muslim population in the United States..... as an example....The city of Hamtramck, near Detroit, has seen changing demographics: long known as a Polish American enclave, it is now as much as 65% Muslim....and growing. With a majority Muslim city council, in addition over a half dozen Mosques.

They are building ‘their nations’ inside the US.

Importing millions of these people into the West and telling them their culture and religion are beautiful will destroy the US in the long run.

by becoming “the first Muslim governor in US history.”

What is it with that "first" obsession? First woman, first black, first gay, etc. Sounds like they are otherwise unqualified!
