The total number of crimes reported across Hawaii in 2016 was the lowest since statewide data collection began more than 40 years ago, according to an annual report released Thursday. Some 45,805 crimes were reported statewide last year, a rate of 3,206 offenses per 100,000 residents.
That's more than 6 percent below the 2015 report, and 27 percent lower than the crime rate reported in 2007.
“The record low crime statistics in 2016 highlight the outstanding work of law enforcement throughout the State and in all four counties," said Doug Chin, Hawaii's attorney general, in a statement that accompanied the report.

Well Hawaii has Democrats running it, that is true.
However one things which Hawaii doesn’t have, is a huge border, without a wall - with a country constantly trying to sneak their own citizens into America.
So I am not surprised by this. It describes how America as a whole would be, with a better deterrent, on the southern border.
Here in Hawaii there are plenty of illegal aliens . The stream in by air....they bard aircraft , using fake ID , a Federal felony . They are not stopped by ICE, TSA , or the local airport police . Tips to elected representatives are ignored . The anchor baby thing is big here . As soon as they arrive they start the process. We have a Hawaii State AG that wants to open the islands to a flood of Moslem immigrants and so-called ‘refugees’ . Very limited land mass and resources , while the great majority of the citizens are clueless Democrat zombie-sheep , and let this all happen without protest .

Yes, that is how NYC pretends the crime picture is improving (while it is much worse under DeBlasio). The push is to simply decriminalize from the bottom up (public urination, smoking weed, etc.).
I don’t believe there are any cities where crime is improving; by their very nature they attract envious people who want other peoples’ stuff.
Easy to accomplish when you redefine crime. Or stop enforcing laws.

Here, the issue is that those that are supposed to be checking ID’s for those boarding U.S. carrier aircraft are NOT doing their jobs . Whether it’s the airline gate agents , or TSA , or roving ICE teams . We even have Spanish speaking groups of men coming in on Canada origin flights ! That is supposed to require advance pre-clearing by ICE agents themselves . And yet here they are ....Once here they just get lost . Until they somehow come to some LEO’s attention if they screw up . Most don’t they just blend in and the civilian population just looks the other way .
What’s really odd is that there are so many locals ( Hawaiians) that are all up in arms about ‘sovereignty ‘ and too many haoles , yet Hawaii is becoming Latinoized , right in front of their faces , and they DO NOTHING . say nothing about it . I guess they like Mexican food better than poi .
