With the map I referenced prior, I believe the car was between the water hole and the highway. Looks like it is banked upwards to retain the water, so the car was in a position to get momentum from going downhill. Guess he/they/etc didn’t plan on needed a bit more to get over the other side of the drainage ditch.

On the open freeway, there was a huge phalanx of speeding motorcycle cops at the head of the presidential motorcade looking all impressive in formation.

Why wasn't there also an escort of motorcycle cops at the front, back and either side of the presidential limousine which was way, way behind the formation of motorcycle cops at the fore?

Talk about a dangerous situation if a smarter assailant was determined to broadside the limo.
