It's a fact: climate change made Hurricane Harvey more deadly

Could be Harvey was enhanced by increased incoming cosmic rays because we are entering Grand Solar Minimum with accompanying weakening of protective magnetic field. This would lead to increased amplitude of jet streams, greater intensity of storms, earlier fall and later spring frosts, floods, and widespread crop failures. Watch for increasing volcanism — nothing to do with humans. See “Little Ice Age.”

I could say that, but I won’t because I don’t want to get sued, Mann.

I guess it’s asking too much for him to wait until our freeways are dry, at least.

As reported by the AP:

“The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate at Bergen Norway .
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.
Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.
Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.
Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coast cities uninhabitable.”

I must apologize. I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922 , as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post 93 years ago.
This must have been caused by the Model T Ford’s emissions or possibly from horse and cattle farts.

Harvey was almost certainly more intense than it would have been in the absence of human-caused warming, which means stronger winds, more wind damage and a larger storm surge.

...

The two weather stations near the coast I checked that were hit by the eye didn’t report sustained winds more than 90mph, yet our glorious government said it was a category 4.

Since hurricanes start their life cycle off the cost of Africa... Obama’s fault.

What can we say about the role of climate change in the unprecedented disaster that is unfolding in Houston with Hurricane Harvey? There are certain climate change-related factors that we can, with great confidence, say worsened the flooding.

Harvey was almost certainly more intense than it would have been in the absence of human-caused warming, which means stronger winds, more wind damage and a larger storm surge.

No you can't. Apparently all you can do is to [still] offer arbitrary assumptions without any evidence other than your own worse-than-worthless word. But at least you're making them about different facets of the hurricane than before. Boy, I'm a believer now! Woo hoo!

The Great Hurricane of 1780, also known as Huracán San Calixto, the Great Hurricane of the Antilles, and the 1780 Disaster, is the deadliest Atlantic hurricane on record. Between 20,000 and 22,000 people died throughout the Lesser Antilles when the storm passed through them from October 10–16. Specifics on the hurricane's track and strength are unknown since the official Atlantic hurricane database only goes back to 1851.

The hurricane struck Barbados with winds possibly exceeding 320 km/h (200 mph), before moving past Martinique, Saint Lucia, and Sint Eustatius; thousands of deaths were reported on the islands. Coming in the midst of the American Revolution, the storm caused heavy losses to British and French fleets contesting for control of the area. The hurricane later passed near Puerto Rico and over the eastern portion of Hispaniola. There, it caused heavy damage near the coastlines. It ultimately turned to the northeast and was last observed on October 20 southeast of Atlantic Canada.

So how do they explain Galveston circa 1900? Such fools.

I’m sure he was, and that probably contributed to how he got this way. I bet whoever did it to him regrets it now!

It was Trump that caused that hurricane at Galveston when he was the commander of the USS Eldridge.
