I have lived in the South for many years and I have never heard of such. If there is any KKK activity in my part of North Carolina they sure keep it a secret. I have never heard of them at all around here. I have heard talk there was a group that met fifty years ago and liked to parade around.
As a matter of fact I don’t see all the turmoil the media talks about. Blacks and whites get along well as far as I know, we work together, see each other in restaurants and have friendly conversations, etc. I went by the park today and saw a white family picnicking at one shelter, a black family picnicking at another, all over the park. And their kids, black and white were playing together - no yelling - no insults - no violence at all.
What am I missing?

These Confederate statues are actually monuments to Confederate soldiers who died in battle and were placed there by the communities from which they came. Less than 10% of those living in the South owned slaves according to the 1850 census. And a handful of them were blacks owning black slaves.
When they remove a stature they are driving a stake into the heart of those families who lost loved ones in the war.
My 87 year old mother does five, seven days a week. Very slowly. She’s retired.
I don’t know if the arrangements for personal hygiene will be the best. There’s going to be a 100-mile-long stench, considering the type of low-lives who will be involved.
