Too bad it went political. This I didn’t see coming. I used to contribute to the Salvation Army. Not any more.
It’s worse than “too bad,” it’s enough to make Jesus weep. The SA has been a blessing to countless millions of people who are suffering for something like 160 years. They have a gold plated reputation for using all but a small fraction of their donated income to help real people with real problems. ONE STUPID ACT thoughtlessly perpetrated by ONE STUPID PERSON threatens to severely curtail the charitable giving from Christians and secularists, alike. It is also costing the SA some church membership, as many members of my extended family can attest. It’s heartbreaking. To the CEO and board members of The Salvation Army...you would be wise to heed the Scripture, “Vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord.”
