The pardon is but prelude..... to the conviction and imprisonment of a judge

The two previous democrat presidents pardoned terrorists and those who committed espionage. This situation is orderliness nothing. A victim of politicization of border security by the globalists.

Just to be a bit more precise to your very valid comment:Clinton pardoned the terrorists in August of 2000 to boost his wife’s election chances. It was the Marc Rich (and others pardons) that occurred on his last day in office.

To set the record straight (Jeez, that’s a trigger word) Obama didn’t pardon Mr Manning, he commuted his sentence. Mr Manning is still a felon.

As long as the judge has to wear pink undies in prison, I’m good!

To either make or break the point being made just go back and analyze pardons presidents have made. It can be pretty subjective. If we were to go by the standards in this article then why did Clinton pardon Marc Rich and Pincus Green, they certainly did not fit the criteria.

Manning did not get a pardon, only a commutation of the sentence.

"or correct a miscarriage of justice"

You have a judge with an ax to grind. That same judge refused Arpaio a jury trial so she could assure herself of finding him guilty because he did not bend his knee to her. F**k her!

If finding Joe Arpaio guilty wasn't a "miscarriage of justice" I don't know what is.

Not a word about rogue judges who have usurped more power than either the Presidency or the Legislative Branch of government? I always thought a reason for the Presidential pardon to exist is to protect citizens when other aspects behave unjustly to them. It’s checks and balances.

It’s not like Sheriff Joe posted gigabytes of classified information on the Internet. That’s an act that wouldn’t deserve a pardon,… Oh wait

Oh the humanity... a President uses his Constitutional authority to override an activist judge’s prosecution of an American hero. Judge Arpaio was protecting the people of his jurisdiction. The activist judge refused him a trial of his peers.

Oh oh. The whinyass, extreme alt-lefties down at the WaPo sewer are “offended” again. We must “impeach” PRESIDENT Trump because he made them “sad” and “uncomfortable” again. Sheriff Arpaio was doing the job the people in Maricopa County elected him to do. It’s the contemptible Federal “courts” who are abusing our laws. Their attack against the sheriff was a joke.

Semantics, these days. How many will hold Mannings’ record against him?

Yes, Sheriff Joe didn't murder, steal or sell drugs, he defied a Judge!

His pardon is clearly an impeachable offense.

And pardoning a sheriff for disobeying federal law is substantively out of step with the constitutional mandate that the president faithfully execute that law — and with the foundational American concept of “a government of laws and not of men.”

Presidential pardons always, by definition, apply to people accused/convicted of disobeying federal law. The President of the United States has authority to exercise that power under Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States:

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment."

The Constitution imposes only one restriction on that power, cases of impeachment, because no other restrictions were intended. The President is the final arbiter of whether federal prosecution/persecutions serve the public interest. In this case, President Trump correctly decided that a pardon setting aside an improperly applied law served the interests of freedom and of the overall rule of law. As always, whether the question is a pardon, a speech that condemns the left's pet terrorists too and not just the Nazi/Klan terrorists who don't side with today's Left, or the number of scoops of ice cream that Trump gets with his dessert, the Left transitions from the story to a hysterical, "AND THAT'S WHY TRUMP SHOULD BE IMPEACHED".
