At Rally, Trump All but Promises to Pardon Arpaio
NY Times ^ | Aug. 22, 2017 | MARK LANDLER and MAGGIE HABERMAN

President Trump on Tuesday all but promised to pardon Joe Arpaio, the hard-line former sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., who became a national symbol of the campaign against undocumented immigrants, and whose round-’em-up raids have landed him in legal trouble. “I’ll make a prediction — I think he is going to be just fine,” an angry and defiant Mr. Trump told a campaign-style forum in Phoenix where he abandoned scripted remarks and launched into a half-hour tirade against the news media. “But I won’t do it tonight because I don’t want to cause any controversy.”

“But Sheriff Joe can feel good,” Mr. Trump added.

I think it was a good time, connecting with his base that way. Trump knows how to talk directly to us. We haven’t had enough of that lately.

Just imagine when Trump starts to campaign again for 2020. It looks like he'll actually have a good track record of accomplishments to run on, while all the democrats will have to run on is hate and racism.

Good luck picking up new voters with that.

Angry? I wouldn’t have called him angry. I’m watching this right now, and I’d call him jubilant!

It’s the New York Slimes - of course they’re going to try to paint it negatively - lying liberals that they are

“Angry and defiant?” Not only did the media turn off their cameras, they turned off their brains.

President Trump was, as he always is at rallies, having the time of his life!!! He absolutely thrives on those rallies. And they are so much fun to watch. It’s fun to see him poking the media and dems, and certain individuals who give him a hard time (did you watch, Sen. McCain?). It’s fabulous showmanship.

Methinks the newsies are reading their own worldview into Donald. They’re always fuming at something, so assume Donald is too.

You are welcome. Zullo says Arpaio has a whole lot of new evidence regarding Barry’s BC forgery that he can/will release, if appropriate, once his court case is over. I hope that means SOON!

I watched PRESIDENT TRUMP’S speech and rally on Fox Business, I was having so much fun I didn’t switch around to see any of the loser networks.
So I have to ask; What did the Communist News Network (cnn) fill that time with?
I really would like to know.

Everyone is missing the genius of Trump. The untold story is many of his base are not happy with his Afghanistan speech and policy. Remember America first? So the establishment republicans are praising him.. so what does he do? Goes back to his base with the oldies but goodies. Throws them the red meat... fake news, make America great, Neil Gorsuch. He’s crazy like a fox. Pardoning Arpaio is icing on the cake. They won’t let him officially endorse Kelli Wardbut his tweet still stands and the establishment is furious!

Not only did the media turn off their cameras, they turned off their brains.

No action required--that is the default setting.

I got the sense while watching that his security people and Phoenix PD had requested that he not pardon Arpaio during the rally unless he wanted to light a match to the crowd outside and start WWIII.

We are at war. And the alt-left media is giving aid and comfort to our Muzzy enemies. Trump has the authority to shut them down in the name of national security. He’s biding his time. But we’ll see raids of CNN, Washington Post, NY Times, etc., and arrests, in due course.

I think they are waiting for all the legal shenanigans to be clear before any pardon so these judges don’t try to recharge Arpaio with something else.
