There has been a major breakthrough in the search for a missing father who was last seen leaving his Victorian home 11 years ago.
Sanie Gillette and one of her sons claim they saw Russell Jenkin walking towards them in a Sunshine Coast car park last summer.
Police are now renewing their appeal for information on Mr Jenkin, who was last seen previously more than a decade agao at the home he shared with Ms Gillette in suburban Melbourne.
The pair had a fight in September, 2006 that led him to walk out of the family home and drive away, leaving his two sons behind - then aged two and four.
That was the fight when he said, "Screw it ..... I've HAD it with your jit"
and walked out.

The same thing happened to Jackie Gleason. "Pops" walked out on him and his mother when Jackie was only 10 years old.
Jackie told his biographer that losing his father like that left a huge hole in his heart, and may have been the kick start to his drinking and eating problems.

After first hand experience with a sociopath, I read it.
Nations can also be sociopathic (perhaps because their leaders are). I now understand completely why you don’t negotiate with a sociopath, a sociopathic nation, or a terrorist.
“Why can’t we all just get along?” Because some people are sociopaths and they will NEVER get along, no matter how reasonable and accommodating you are. They will see reason and compromise as weakness and use that as an opportunity to take advantage, abuse, or destroy you.
My Uncle disappeared one day 50 years ago and was never seen again. Left a wife and two little girls. Never a word from him. I used to think it was desertion but now I am considering foul play.
My dad was always on the run, usually from child support and alimony for many kids and ex wives he accumulated. He was a drug addict and all around loser. Hadn’t seen him since I was 11, around 1986. Found out last month he’s been dead since 2015. No tears shed. A man who doesn’t provide for his kids isn’t a man. My own kids have no clue what it’s like not having a dad to take care of them.
That is exactly what happened.

I know a woman who is like an android. I doubt she will shed a tear if her husband dies before her except maybe to wonder how it will effect her.
Sad, but not terribly unusual. I know at least three people whose fathers up and walked away during their childhoods. Moms do it too. Some people just aren't cut out to be parents.
One guy gave up after finding out he’s gay. Better to find out as a teenager.

I have known several prosecutors who say that there are a lot more serial killer and kidnappers than the ones you read about. One stated that a lot of the “rumors” have more basis in reality than many want to admit.
