Well, it’s about time.
After some Confederate statue-topplings, but before any Confederate book burnings, California protesters are now targeting a horse. A beautiful Arabian.
The creature’s unforgivable crime? His name is similar to the horse ridden by Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee 152 years ago, Traveler. Only Lee’s horse used two L’s–Traveller.
Traveler is the official mascot of the University of Southern California. With a sword-waving, faux warrior in the saddle, he gallops all over the home field whenever the USC Trojan football team scores, which it’s expected to do a lot this season.
Unless you went to Notre Dame, Traveler’s majestic Saturday romps are actually a beautiful sight, the large muscular animal moving effortlessly over the turf, its long pure tail flying straight out in a breeze of his own making.
But somehow apparently the graceful creature got caught up in the ongoing racial debate about motionless statues to ancient Americans who fought for, supported or ruled in favor of the old South and slavery.
See, Traveler is white. All white. Supremely white.
Last week, a USC group staged a campus rally to show solidarity with Eastern groups just discovering the Civil War’s legacy.

Such ignorance and stupidity speaks poorly, both of the CA educational system, as well as the admissions standards of USC.
If the horse is white, it’s easily remedied. Dye him black or rainbow-colored or whatever.
Really...I keep thinking these guys have jumped the shark, but they turn around & outdo themselves. Protesting a white horse. That’s just too much!
They need a black horse. Nobody knows what a Trojan is, so I advise they replace him with a distinguished USC alum - OJ. He’ll be out of jail soon and will need something to do.
Since swords were also used by Confederate soldiers, let OJ replace it with a kitchen knife.
What are they going to do ? Shoot the horse like Dallas policemen ?
White horse needs to check his privilege.
They should trade out the horse for a condom. More appropriate.
Already items related to our history are becoming scarce. A friend wanted to get a 2018 Civil War engagement planner(Lang used to publish them. But could find none anywhere on the Internet.
USC needs an O.J. Simpson lawn jockey.

I believe there are still specialty shops for Civil War memorabilia.
But don’t mistake falling out of favor for being banned or illegal.
Many years ago, someone at Texas Tech in Lubbock thought it was a good idea to paint their horse mascot orange and the poor horse died. All of Texas was outraged at the stupidity.
We hold High Noon in high esteem out here in the West. Love cowboys and Indians. Sing ‘killed him a b’ar’ with gusto. And are not so interested in putting up with Commie Shenanigans (except for the Coastal Strip, of course. They are). Bring ‘em on.
Blacks, "hispanics" and "Whites" have equally benefited form that invasion.
Unfortunately, Bob Lang went bankrupt (not because of his Civil War Engagement planner, but because he spent multi millions $$$ designing and constructing a golf course which he lost to his creditors). The calendar biz was sold off a few years ago, but it operates only on a limited basis. And no more beautiful boxes. Sad.

Wanna talk racism? After the Civil War, the Union army turned its attention to the genocide of Native Americans (many of whom fought for the Confederacy, because they knew what was coming if the North won).
When are their statues and monuments coming doen, huj?
