Efforts to pass a so-called “bathroom bill” in Texas failed this week when the legislature abruptly ended a 30-day special session with no vote on the measure.
Despite support among voters and legislators, the bill, titled the “Texas Privacy Act,” garnered a pack of big business opponents, including organizations like the NFL, Apple, Amazon, Exxon Mobile, and Hilton, who threatened retribution against the state if the bill passed.
The proposed legislation would have required transgender individuals to use the public restroom corresponding to their biological sex in schools and state buildings. North Carolina passed a similar law in 2016 but then partially repealed the measure due to public backlash.

This is a kind of inverse P.C. which is why it goes nowhere.
In practice, if impostors who do it well visit the rooms for what they masquerade as, few complain. It’s happened for decades. But the question arises about how to police this? Are birth certificates needed to go in the loo? Do I have to show my thang as a passport? What we are lacking now is respect, which the impostors of old still had. This sounds like a disorderly-conduct issue. Don’t get up like a squishysexual freak and then showily go to a public loo.

Who and how? They should have passed this bill last spring they dragged their feet and allowed the opposition to mobilize.

The problem today is a man for instance can identify as female on any given day WITHOUT dressing like one to use the ladies room.
I know we all have visions of ugly cross-dressers or Ruepaul types but that is simply not the case all the time.
This insanity also carries over to schools.
The problem becomes how to police it. If it can’t be fairly policed then it will probably be tossed out as unenforceable. The new trend will be to single patron genderless and multi patron family bathrooms. One cannot legislate away the changing face of society even if it changes to the ill. Let’s die on other hills. Ones having to do with gospel freedom.

People don’t think it possible, but liberals are quietly organizing to take over the state in the 2018 elections. And the conservative state House members we have now, maybe 50, are badly outnumbered already.

Corporations have owned the Texas Legislature for as long as I can remember. It’s actually legal to hand out checks on the floor of the legislature. Well, at least it was at one time. They may have changed that since it was caught on TV.
