Kobach: Republicans ‘Irrationally Fearful’ of Stating Mainstream Opinions
Breitbart ^ | 8/18/2017

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity and a candidate for governor, joined host Alex Marlow on Friday’s Breitbart News Daily to discuss the political fallout from Charlottesville.

“For years now, the liberal media, and the left in politics in America, have used racism as their Number One scarlet letter, the scarlet ‘R’,” Kobach observed. “If they can put that on somebody, then they have something. You know the old joke: What’s the definition of a racist? It’s a conservative who is winning an argument.”

“This has given them an opportunity, these recent events and their claim that President Trump didn’t say the right words. When he said the words they wanted him to say, he said he still hasn’t said the right words. It goes on and on,” he said.

Kobach noted “Republicans across the spectrum” have been subjected to this treatment.

“Any time you oppose illegal immigration, the left will say you’re a racist. Go down the line. You name the issue. Just talk about the voter fraud commission – if you support photo ID like we have in Kansas, a proof of citizenship to register to vote, you must be a racist,” he said.

“You have a lot of politicians who are afraid of any attack in that regard, rushing to distance themselves from the president, when the attacks on the president are not well-founded. It just sort of shows how this constant targeting of conservatives and falsely calling us racists has made some politicians rather, I would say, a little bit irrationally fearful. Instead of standing up and stating their beliefs if asked, they have rushed to do anything they can to avoid coming under any scrutiny at all. It’s interesting to watch, and not particularly heartening,”

Marlow said far too much of the Republican caucus has been “quick to virtue-signal and to preen for the CNNs of the world, in order to try to get the moral high ground on race relations.” He called it a “deceitful, lying game where there’s never going to be a winner on the right side.”

Kobach applauded Marlow’s use of the term “virtue-signaling.”

Kobach noted “Republicans across the spectrum” have been subjected to this treatment.

And it is a consequence of the fact that they own the airwaves. Liberals have free speech because they own all the broadcasting channels and equipment, and conservatives do not have free speech because they can't reach the hundred of millions of people every day that need to be reached to hear their positions.

Liberal control of the broadcasting networks has turned the founder's concept and reasons for "freedom of speech" on it's side.

It does not serve the interest of the Republic for one of the parties to speak if there is no way they can be heard by a sufficient quantity of the public to have an effect.

Liberals effectively posses veto power over conservative speech.

I hate these people. They will NEVER get a dime or any kind of support from me or my family. The GOP should be ashamed of themselves. Lying sacks of cowardly ****.

It’s not out of fear, they are taking every opportunity to undermine Trump. You’ll note with the exception of flake, corker and ryan, the only ones jumping on the pile are the ones not up for re-election or not running. It’s not that the ones that are running don’t agree, it’s just that they know if they pile on Trump they will hurt their re-election chances.

If any of those Republicans had an is of self respect they would say “Anyone who calls me a racist will get the shit knocked out of them” the cowardly Dems would run and hide.

...left in politics in America, have used racism as their Number One scarlet letter, the scarlet ‘R’,” Kobach observed...excellent analogy - I've often thought that the judgmental-righteous indignation- moral superiority characteristics of the current left in this country is just the latest iteration of the Puritanism we saw as America got started - and which the left loves to denounce.....

No, they are closet Democrat globalists. Supposedly irrational fear is their constant camouflage.

They go to same schools with same professors, they live in same neighborhoods with same clubs.

They are the controlled opposition, not conservatives. They are fearless in attacking real conservatives.

We need to find a way to get thou, but We need Trump’s help by breaking up Google, and Facebook as monopolies.

Freedom of speech is not going to survive when a monopoly has the effective ability and will to shut down any speech it disagrees with. These monopolies must end or they will likely be successful in ending free speech and democracy in this country.

You and I are thinking alike on this. Every oppressive internet monopoly needs to be beaten to death with the force of anti-trust law.

Freedom of speech is not going to survive when a monopoly has the effective ability and will to shut down any speech it disagrees with.

OMG! I keep trying to get this very point across to people, and so many of them say "Well it's different if it is a private company censoring speech. It's only wrong if the government does it!"

No, it matters not how it's done, so long as it's done it's a threat to the nation.

These monopolies must end or they will likely be successful in ending free speech and democracy in this country.

Exactly right. Suppression of Conservative speech is the most significant and dangerous threat this nation is currently facing.

Yes, Trump needs to create as many legal and financial problems for Google, Fascistbook, Twitter, and so forth as he can.

We also need to refuse to use them or their products as much as is possible.
