Violent Tribalism on Display in Charlottesville
Townhall.com ^ | August 17, 2017 | Bob Barr

When it comes to political violence such as we witnessed in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend, there are no partisan “sides” to the issue. In an enlightened society, you either believe violence is an acceptable means to an end, or you do not. In this parity, there is no room for equivocation, where the perceived nobleness or virtue of one’s agenda can excuse it. Initiating force against any group or individual for the sake of achieving a political goal or simply making a political statement, is morally and legally wrong. Full stop.

Last weekend was a national embarrassment in every sense of the word; from the pathetic display of a bunch of wimps carrying Tiki torches trying to look tough, to yet another appearance of masked “Antifa” thugs sucker-punching anyone with whom they disagree. Initially too, President Trump, missing what could have been a defining moment for his young presidency, tip-toed over the violence rather than offering a dose of his trademark blustering and rage to blast the neo-Nazis who reflect the worst side of humanity. Instead, Trump, like so many others on the Left and Right, once again attempted to distill the deplorable conduct into a political blame game, insinuating one side would have been “right” if not for the provocation of the other.

Attempting to ascribe degrees of blame to the protest groups in Charlottesville misses the point entirely about today’s political violence. The Alt-Right’s venomous racism is no more, or less, contemptible than the Alt-Left’s belief that offensive speech must be banned at any price. Violence is violence, regardless of the politics behind it.

We have broken down into tribes.

Non whites have been allowed to be tribal for decades with their own political and a multitude of other race specific groups. In addition allowing for the teaching of white hatred, 'white privledge' and all kinds of other anti-white BS that has been done increasingly since the 1960's leads us to where we are.

Bob Barr is eloquent. Trump is not. Therefore Trump should not even bother to play that game.

Wait - why again does this useless piece of excrement think the “neo-nazis” (grow up Bob) have to apologise for violence? They did nothing wrong. They had valid permits. They were unarmed. They were there to exercise their freedom of assembly. The fact that you don’t like their politics is irrelevant.

Violence did not begin until antifa showed up. Everything - even the death of Heather Heyer - was proximately because of them, and them alone.

Another Obama legacy: America has been reduced to third world status..... broken down into tribes.......being torn apart by rioters who are paid globalist flunkies and thugs.

This lefty agitation in Charlottesville, and elsewhere, is reminiscent of "The Mau Mau Uprising," a military conflict that took place in British-Kenya between 1952 and 1960. It involved native-dominated groups (called Mau Mau), against white settlers and elements of the British Army.

The Mau Mau were easily defeated by the Brit's using the time-honored "divide and conquer" strategy..........gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into pieces that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy.

The D/C concept refers to a strategy that breaks up existing power structures.......particularly preventing smaller power groups from linking up, groups that are causing rivalries and are fomenting discord among the people.

He makes some good points, such as this one.

The problem is, the media and the liberals have decided to take sides, and have decided the entire blame for the violence belongs to what they are again calling the “alt right”. Where did the “alt right” term come from? I remember Hillary said something about them last year, then dropped that from her campaign speeches. Apparently didn’t pass muster with her focus groups.

But the point is, the media and liberals have taken sides. They have decided that the antifa thugs were the good guys, even if they behaved as thugs, they are being given a pass by the liberals.

So now, as a result, they have pushed into overdrive to cleanse us of Confederate monuments. They are not letting a crisis go to waste. They are taking advantage of this moment to push that particular agenda item on their list of things they want to do.

“And so the Jews climbed into the rail cars.”

Of course there are times when violence is acceptable.

I am so tired of this virtue signaling that is used to cover for the Democrats.

“Violence is bad!”

Wow.

No kidding.

Here, let me add to this.

Air is good!

See! That makes me a good person!

I’m for air and people need air.

I am tired of not just hate speech, but hate actions.

I’m tired of the hate actions that Puerto Rico has been looted by the Democrats.

I’m sick of the hate actions that Chicago has been looted by the Democrats.

I’m sick of the hate actions that Illinois has been looted by the Democrats.

Americans of African Descent? I like most of the ones I’ve met.

Americans of Asian Descent? I like most of the ones I’ve met.

Americans of Hispanic Descent? I like most of the ones I’ve met.

Americans of European Descent? I like most of the ones I’ve met.

George Soros and the thieves at the Democrat Party? Screw em.

Literally no one, and I mean no one, gets it. We have seen these Antifa thugs attack Trump supporters leaving rallies for a year. The 4chan kids have a meme with some 50 different people with blood streaming from their scalps and faces on one image. Not one arrest. Not one politician concerned besides Trump. The reaction of most folks is, “Man, I ain’t going near anything that is going to send me home like that.” Which, of course is the whole point. The “beaters” KNOW they can act with impunity (and there is evidence of some being PAID to do it, the names of those paying are know and still, not one arrest.
Some folks aren’t willing to go so “quietly into the dark night” and knowing they will be attacked have begun wearing helmets and carrying shields so they can defend themselves. And yes, “based stick man” defended himself offensively.
For anyone, BSM or politician to interpret this sequence of events as “both sides are violent” is disingenuous at best and outright lying propaganda, at worst.
One image I will never forget is a poor woman in San Diego where the police were ordered to let Antifa roam who was trapped in a revolving door. The police were on the other side of the glass and would not let her in and some 20 thugs spit on her repeatedly literally covering her face and head.
Sorry, but this “moral equivalence” argument is pure crap. It is more repugnant than the violence itself but I guess, that is just life today.

The amazing thing is how well it is working for the libtards. The entire point of all this is to spread disharmony among the opposition. Right out of the psyops playbook. But, I guess, it is in the book because it works. And all these folks virtue signaling “all violence is evil” are falling for the con.
No all violence is not evil. “Doing nothing in the face of evil IS evil”. Sometimes absence of violence is evil.
And the really amazing thing, I would bet there are no voices at HuffPost or DU proclaiming that “We must dissociate ourselves from the violent alt left, they are hurting our image!” I would bet there isn’t a post like that to be found. But we are so virtuous here some half of the posters “wouldn’t have anything to do with that because (insert reason here).
I would say it demoralizes me but then I would be admitting that their psyops are working on me, too.

This is pure BS.

If you look at the pictures of protesters of both sides the vast majority are whites on both sides.

This is an ideological war - left vs right. Marxism vs conservatism.

“Non whites have been allowed to be tribal for decades...”

Look at the picture - what you’ll see is almost all whites on both sides. This is not so much blacks against whites as left against right.

Antifa and even BLM and other groups involved in these violent riots are led by Marxist whites.

And yes they will stir up black grievances as a cover to gain the moral high ground, but they’re only using blacks to achieve their bigger goal - a Marxist America.
