I could live with that.

Since Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, we should nullify it and return to being a colony of Great Britain.

Dumping the Confederate flag and hero-worshipping statues is a winner for everyone, but going further to challenge Washington, Jefferson, and others is over the line. President Trump made that point this week and I think it is an emotional line that Democrats should back away from. They risk alienating the vast majority of Americans that are patriots, that really do believe in America, even if they’ve voted recently Democrat. Very few people are really going to want to destroy America in such a symbolic way.

It’s ironic isn’t it? Just a few years ago democrats proudly declared their party to be the Party of Jefferson. Now they want to tear down the Jefferson Memorial. Disgusting.

The left was so close to victory. With Hillary as President, her pen and a phone, they could turn American into the socialist utopia they dream of.

Instead we have President Trump.

President Trump deserves our praise for one thing, even if nothing else gets done. He has allowed the left to out themselves as extreme left who hate this nation with a passion.

Really? The whole premise of removing the Confederate statues is they were slaveholders and racist. So were Washington, Jefferson and many other. Yo got not a leg to stand on

They’ve always hated our Constitution as it is a brake on their implementing their socialist ideology. By attacking the founders, they are trying to discredit their beliefs of freedom and liberty.

President Trump doesn’t need a dog. He needs his people. He needs us.

Write him, send ONLY him money, go to a rally. Connect with our President.

No, it is one thing to call for removal of the Confederate flag and hero-worshiping statues celebrating the Confederacy. It is an entirely different thing to call for removal of non-Confederate memorials and statues. Washington and Jefferson, for example, never committed treason or killed Americans. They are our founding fathers and while they did have slaves, it is historical context. Our nation evolved. Heck, we could pick up on women voting and thus someone could next claim anyone prior to about 1919 should be removed from public property. Then, what? No, the Confederacy is correctly removed but don’t touch America.

I’m sorry but they are not being removed for anything that you quote. They are being removed because they were associated with slaveholding and ‘racism’. As were many of our founders.

African slavery is so much the outstanding feature of the South, in the unthinking view of it, that people often forget there had been slaves in all the old colonies. Slaves were auctioned openly in the Market House of Philadelphia; in the shadow of Congregational churches in Rhode Island; in Boston taverns and warehouses; and weekly, sometimes daily, in Merchant’s Coffee House of New York. Such Northern heroes of the American Revolution as John Hancock and Benjamin Franklin bought, sold, and owned black people. William Henry Seward, Lincoln’s anti-slavery Secretary of State during the Civil War, born in 1801, grew up in Orange County, New York, in a slave-owning family and amid neighbors who owned slaves if they could afford them. The family of Abraham Lincoln himself, when it lived in Pennsylvania in colonial times, owned slaves.

Ah Ha! A True Dem against the statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Go ahead and tell us how you are against the United States. We are all ears.
