I believe the vast majority of informed people know.

However, most informed people would consider "shredded" an unnecessary overstatement but they would see your point, IMHO.

To some White Men putting together the greatest country on Earth under God’s purview is the flaw.

How the nation faced its flaws, or imperfections, and overcame them is the history of the nation.

How will we explain to future generations how America was able to totally abolish slavery in less then eighty years when there is no evidence?

This is not an assault on Confederate monuments; it is an assault on America's Constitution, IMHO.

It is also, most directly, a smear of American society - the middle class. Performed not only by the black putative victims of the Confederate monuments, but cynically by all Democrats, from their assumed “moral” - actually propaganda - position of superiority.
