Actually, the person you can thank the most for Andersonville was US Grant. He is the one who advised that prisoner exchanges be stopped.

Until then both sides saw merit in prisoner exchanges and they happened frequently.

If it was who I think it was from the video, the correct phrase would be “hit by a car she was attacking”.

Yep. Read that as well plus all POW camps on both sides and what happened there. Andersonville was the poster camp for all the camps. I’m not condoning what went on in the Northern POW camps, the whole posting started out with pulling down Confederate monuments and I just happen to bring up Wirz and Andersonville.

Camp commanders on both sides needed a noose for what they did not just Wirz.

Further:

But if Abraham Lincoln was America’s greatest president, then it is an America quite removed from the one envisioned and framed by the founding fathers. The framers wrote volumes warning future generations against the evils of centralized government, oppressive taxes (especially an income tax), federal subsidies, tyrannical democracy, and central banking. Each of these Lincoln willingly
embraced, the entire time pretending to revere and sustain the Constitution he was undermining.
His sweeping disregard of the 10th and 2nd Amendments, his suspension of the 1st Amendment and the writ of habeas corpus, his leashing of an illconceived an undeclared war, unrestrained murder of innocent civilians during war and use of punitive tariffs were all part of a calculated reign of terror.

well it was her own mother who claims “she was killed to shut her up”...IOW to stop her from declaring her un-American political views by attacking the poor guy’s car ???

I was astonished the first time I listened to the mother say that...

who was stopping her daughter from speaking her piece ???

Was the daughter a spokesperson for Antifa ??? sounds like it...

Has anyone investigated what the mother said ???

Actually Andersonville wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if the Union had not cut off prisoner exchanges.

Most of the men of the south were away in the army or war related jobs.
Food was scarce and the Confederate army was starving itself by wars end. Wirz probably did the best with what he could lay his hands on.

The Union camp commanders were doing the bidding of Sec of War Stanton and DC politicians.
The last commander of Douglas was promoted to Brig Gen for his exemplary efforts running the camp.

The monuments are just the next chapter in the leftists playbook. Before long some idiot will try to destroy the Washington monument, Monticello or anything associated with anyone southern.
They have to in order to rewrite history to achieve their Marxist paradise.

Grant cut off exchanges because he found that those Confederate soldiers he pardoned to go home were back on the battlefield again having to be fought against all over again.
