Despite laws making the destruction of public property a criminal offense the North Carolina police watched as a motley group of young vandals pulled down a statue of a confederate soldier and then kicked it repeatedly.
Question: Is is still safe to be a southerner in the US?

A protest in downtown Durham on Monday night left a statue of a Confederate soldier erected nearly a century ago crumpled on the ground. Sheriff’s deputies recorded the event but did not intervene as a protester climbed a ladder and slipped a yellow, bungie-like cord around the soldier’s head and arm and a group pulled the cord.
The statue did a somersault, collapsing against the stone pedestal in front of the old county courthouse on East Main Street.
Protesters cheered and started to kick the crumpled mass.

Did you notice that it was a crowd comprised almost entirely of young white people that were desecrating that confederate memorial all in the name of anti-racist social justice? Black Votes Matter!
Well, one of the organizers per the story was “Loan Tran”, I assume she is some Vietnamese woman per the pictures. Still, if they have names of any organizers, they need to prosecute them, make anyone who did this pay for damages. It must be in the thousands. I’m following this story; because how can they allow someone to get away with destroying state property? I’d get in trouble if I knock someone’s mail box down.
They should probably send the bill to George Soros.

What the race mongers and the Left have been trying to do is put themselves above the Law. Looks like they are getting there, at least in some places.
The authorities should have turned a fire hose on these vermin.
What’s happening in this country is disgraceful, and I’m beginning to get pissed off at OUR side for doing nothing about it (and, no, a bunch of meaningless platitudes at press conferences isn’t going to do the trick).

Also, I’m for everyone’s rights to peaceful protest; but it almost seems like folks should be 30 or over; a lot of the irresponsible actions on all sides, seem to be by people who are 23 or less. They haven’t been through enough life.
Prosecute the trash, make them spend time in jail. Financial restitution. What kind of nation of laws are we?

More people need to understand your reference to Bleeding Kansas. Mostly forgotten history.
I grew up in Kansas City, MO but moved to the deep South many years ago.
Even people in the South have no concept of what transpired on the Missouri and Kansas border.
Perhaps it’s time to fight fire with fire, pull down a couple monuments to some icons of the left like Caesar Chavez or some of the monuments to the union movement, feminism and gay right. Make them realize destroying history works both ways...

Oh, yes. Just the other day there was a huge anti-Trump, anti-right rally in a large city near where I live (NE rust-belt state). I watched the local news cover it.
The reporter interviewed some of the participants. All said angry things about Trump (what a surprise). Off to the side of the screen I could see protesters holding large red flags. There were quite a few of them.
Funny that the TV station’s camera did not focus on any of that.
It’s totally unacceptable for LE to just “stand down” and allow lawlessness like this.
Just wait till the next phone call to “support your LEO”....they’re in for a shock.
Whoever forced LE to “stand down” needs to be taken to the woodshed...BIG TIME. Perhaps if LE can’t do their job anymore, maybe someone else can step in and do it for em. This crap needs to stop now.
